Most film critics, become critics for a reason. And now negative opinions get more views and hits than positive ones. This is the age we live in.
Those films you mentioned - how did they do at the Box Office? While well shot, nobody cared enough to watch them.

Here we have yet again another instance of “critics are bad because their opinion doesn’t line up with my experience.” I agree with the critics on this one. Michael is Jesus in this movie. It’s extremely one dimensional. Joe Jackson is Satan. It pretty much follows the biopic template to a T. Massive pacing issues in the third act. Watch Better Man or Walk Hard.

@brndxix Erm... no... Critics panned the following films when they came out: Fight Club, Blade Runner, The Shining. Starship Troopers, the list goes on. Likewise, critics loved Breakfast at Tiffany's when it came out. And don't get me started on the last few Oscar winners.

Looks like a lot of people can't read. It's not like it's not been known for what, a year, that it would be two films. First one: 60s - 80s - when he couldn't do wrong. Part 2 - Late 80's - 2000's - when he became public enemy no 1. But people can't be bothered to research.

Third, a film was made with two people that lied under oath. And finally, heard of Epstein? Paying off was his entire business model.

We’ve legit lost the plot. I honestly have zero idea what people are looking for these days but there needs to be a major shift in criticism. The movie I saw was well written, well directed, beautifully shot, insanely well performed and the sound was amazing. Are we “film” critics or not. We’re supposed to help paint the picture of what an audience can anticipate and this score is not even close to that picture, objectively.
