Evaluation of the Family Court Reporting Pilot. This study evaluated the pilot, which enabled accredited journalists and legal bloggers to report on family court cases across three pilot areas in England and Wales, following a wider review of transparency in the family courts. The pilot enjoyed strong support amongst court staff, legal professionals and media stakeholders.

In 2011, there were 4,000 arrests as a result of the riots. By October, 1,984 were charged. 846 received prison sentences. Given the violent and racially aggravated nature of the riots this weekend, it would be reasonable to expect even heavier sentences in many cases.
