@joekent16jan19 I would like someone to mention that the U.S. went off the gold standard in the same exact year that our government signed the legislation that earmarked money for Israel annually, which was $600 million back then, that when adjusted for inflation would be $4.8 billion today.

Ambassador, your job is to represent American interests in Israel. With that in mind, please explain what we receive in return for our investment in Israel. How have Israel’s actions in Iran, Gaza, or Lebanon, to name a few, made America safer & more prosperous? The arms sales argument is flawed logic. We give Israel money so they can buy American weapons—why not just spend our money on weapons for our own inventories? The intelligence we get from the Israelis can be useful, but our increasing over-reliance on it has caused our own capabilities to atrophy. We are a sovereign nation. We cannot outsource components of our national security to nations that do not share our interests— of course they will put their own interests first. No other nation prioritizes the needs of a different country before its own, because that would be foolish. Israel can still be a decent partner, so long as we are clear-eyed about the differences between our two countries, and act accordingly. We have to put America’s needs first.

Joe Kent is either not very smart or just dishonest. Israel receives $3.8 billion but spends far more than that buying US military goods. US also receives intel, tech innovations so that ROI is many times more. New MOU w/ Israel ends aid & will be based on trade.

NEW: We obtained a not-yet-public FARA filing revealing how Brad Parscale has directed $13 million from Israel to Republican digital strategy firms run by some of his long time allies, along with to a subsidiary of Salem Media itself, where he is an exec. With @nick_clevelands at @theintercept and @RStatecraft The new filing sheds light on a more detailed web of interconnected companies and political operatives capitalizing on Parscale’s contract with the Israeli government. @joekent16jan19 I have respect for a lot of folks who are right-leaning and left-leaning, but there is absolutely large swath of gatekeepers who use the culture war BS to keep both sides divided, and worse than that, they can get their own side to also attack them until they fall back in line.

A Jewish settler entered a cave dwelling used by Palestinians in Khirbet al-Rakeez in the southern Hebron Hills and shoved a woman to the ground while she was holding her baby. In another incident captured on video, the same settler repeatedly struck the family’s guard dog with a stick. Settlers have repeatedly entered Palestinians cave dwellings in the area in recent months, Times of Israel reported along with links to footage of the video, as part of a broader pattern of escalating settler harassment and intimidation across the southern Hebron Hills.
