Gave us the best day of our lives and helped carry the club through the most difficult of circumstances. Undermined and abandoned by the ‘fans’ in the end despite his circumstances. He deserved more support and I will forever be grateful for all he did!

@jn_inspire I agree he lost the bulk of fans but he deserved much more support in the ground than what he got. Anfield has been a toxic place all year which considering what the club went through in the summer is pathetic!

@JoeGuerin7 Come on Joe, Liverpool fans are on the main very fair. He lost the bulk of them not just a toxic online contingent. Just as much about how he spoke about and managed the squad, not just the stars. Salah speaking out the final nail. Lost the locker room.

@JoeGuerin7 We were all hyped about “big names” but ultimately most were shite & not needed. The worst thing is we could have built something special instead flunked it on names that just didn’t fit. We were a much better footballing team than the shite Arteta serves up yet here we are.

I’m glad they’ve made that decision but it’s just stupid timing from the club. If they’d made the announcement last week he’d have got a proper appreciative send off and despite this season, he absolutely deserved that. Shambles. Let’s hope they get the next steps right.
