I have a somewhat cynical theory sometimes base weapons are designed to look bad so people want to buy the ornaments more

@GowFeed I thought 5's story was excellent and set up the potential for a killer 6th entry to close out the second trilogy. I'm pretty frustrated with E-Day being the direction they went.

The negative impression left by Gears 5 sure is amplified by the positive response to E-Day. Of course social media cultivates a binary environment - but I don’t think 5 ‘sucked’. It wasn’t a bad game. This new-ish team at TC going back to the roots emphasises just how bloody hard it must’ve been to follow a masterpiece of a trilogy. We may not have agreed with many of the decisions, but 4 & 5 were still honed and crafted by super talented people that made something good, but not great. Game development is intricate and extremely difficult. I don’t think we should be tearing the old team apart and diminishing work they spent years of their lives on. Regardless, it’s a great time to be a Gears fan again. 🙏⚙️

@shinobi602 Dude, before I saw your tweet, I thought I was the only person alive that wanted to see that trilogy's conclusion. It was a REALLY GOOD setup with Gears 5!

I'm both excited and...kind of frustrated about Gears of War: E-Day. Will definitely play a Marcus+Dom prequel, but also uhh...want to see the conclusion to Gears 4 and 5? Is that just not happening?
