OPERATION EASTERN SANITY: TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIMS ARREST CRIMINALS IN THE SOUTH EAST Troops of Operation UDO KA in collaboration with other security agencies have continued to sustain operational momentum in the South East under the ongoing operation EASTERN SANITY. Troops recorded significant successes with the rescue of kidnap victims in Enugu State and the arrest of a criminal network member in Ebonyi State on 28 April 2026. In Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, troops of the 82 Division Garrison deployed at Akama acted swiftly on credible intelligence regarding a kidnap attempt along the Akama–Iwollo Road in Enugu state. The troops pursued and engaged the criminals, successfully rescuing four abducted individuals: Chisom Kingsley and Chuoke Chinedu, both from Akama. Others are, Jonathan Paul Chukwu from Akwa Ibom, and Patience John from Taraba State. A motorcycle and a vehicle were recovered during the operation. The rescued victims, the recovered motorcycle and vehicle, were handed over to the Nigerian Police for further investigation. In a related operation, acting on intelligence derived from the earlier arrest of a notorious insurgent commander, Mr Chinedu Igautu, known as “Calamity,” and four of his associates, troops of Sector 2, Operation UDO KA, conducted a follow-up operation in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The operation led to the arrest of another key member of the IPOB/ESN criminal network, Mr. Chisom Agashi Ogadego, also known as “Baron,”. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had been involved in criminal activities, including kidnapping operations within the state. The suspect provided useful information that enabled further operational gains, including the recovery of AK-47 rifle, magazines, and ammunition from a location within Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi state. These coordinated actions underscore the effectiveness of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks and safeguarding communities across the South-East. The Nigerian Army reassures the public of its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property. Citizens are encouraged to continue supporting the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with timely and credible information to enhance operational successes against criminal elements. The Attack on the GUO Bus Along Benin–Ore Expressway: Condemnable. I received the devastating report of a violent attack on a GUO transport bus travelling along the Benin–Ore Expressway, where armed kidnappers reportedly ambushed the vehicle, killed the driver, and abducted all passengers into a nearby bush. Sadly, this has become an increasingly distressing and recurring story. This is yet another heartbreaking reminder of the worsening insecurity on our highways and across the nation. No society can truly thrive under such conditions of fear and uncertainty. The impact of this crisis now cuts across all sectors of national life and development. Small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) are being severely affected. Transporters are losing passengers, while traders and business owners are losing customers who can no longer travel safely to access goods and services. Economic activity is being quietly strangled by insecurity. We must urgently confront this situation and take decisive steps to improve security across the country, especially for ordinary Nigerians who cannot afford the option of air travel. We must rethink and strengthen our national security architecture. The protection of lives and property must remain the foremost responsibility of the state. Anything less is unacceptable. May God protect our people and grant comfort to the families of those affected. -PO

Thanks to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Nigerians have again seen that I have been vindicated and corroborated by the highest elected authorities in Anambra State that Peter Obi did NOT build a single: Nursery School Primary School Secondary School University Standalone Hospital Airport Independent Power Project, or Flyover Aside from the beer brewery he built for Anambra State citizens and residents to drink alcohol and forget his misgovernance, what other major infrastructure did Peter Obi build in Anambra? Virtually nothing. And that is why Peter Obi is the only Anambra Governor since 1999 under whom poverty increased in Anambra State. Please fact-check me: The poverty rate in Anambra was 41.4% in 2003, before Peter Obi took office, and rose to 53.7% by 2009, during his governorship, a 29.7% increase. And this is the man Dele Momodu was saying would help the African Democratic Congress defeat President Bola Tinubu, who added $67 billion to Nigeria's GDP, moving us from a ₦269.29 trillion economy on May 29, 2023, when he became President, to ₦372.8 trillion today? If that is a joke, it is in very poor taste! Reno Omokri Ambassador Designate to Mexico. Gospeller. @DOlusegun What is naira exchange rate ratio against USD and local African currencies. This post is paid rhoterics, though. Nigeria, I'm free to say, has never been morally deceased and most sedicious as in this regime. And, inflation as per purchasing power is real the calculus to poverty

While many patriotic Nigerians are still excited about the update from IMF featuring Nigeria among the top ten contributors to real GDP growth in the world, the promise of an even much better 2026 should excite many more as the renewed hope administration take things to the next level with implementation of more ambitious and radical reforms across various sectors. For the first time since our return to democracy in 1999, so many dormant sectors of the economy will now be playing the actual role of reinforcing economic growth in a way that is similar to those of advanced economies due to the “reset” buttons pulled by President Tinubu. Let’s break some of these sectors down as we commence February with renewed economic vigor. INSURANCE: In August 2025, President Tinubu signed a landmark Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025 (NIIRA 2025) into law in a move that is expected to signal the dawn of a new era for the industry. Going forward, insurance is expected to become an integral component of the economy with improved capital base, compulsory enforcement, digitization models amongst many other factors. - NEW BANKING ERA: For years, Nigeria’s banking sector has played little role in financing real development in the country due to their structural set up. For President Tinubu, our commercial banks should be the soul of the economy driving development through easy access to credit that leads to job creation, infrastructural growth among others. Our manufacturing sector, infrastructural sector, housing and other real sectors are expected to naturally receive more attention as banks compete for customers through improved products targeted at their customers following the recapitalization process that will now be completed in March. Going forward, expect more banks to “literally” beg “formalized” customers to take loans for daily consumption including the purchase of automobiles, gadgets among other services as obtainable in advanced economic climes. - AGRICULTURE: Like he has done with commercial banks, President Tinubu has commenced the recapitalization of the Bank of Agriculture with a N1.5trillion capital base to ensure the bank sufficiently fund farmers and other participants in the sector through structured lending arrangements and other financing schemes. This is expected to move Nigeria away from the old system of handing over money to persons with little or no business in a sector that should contribute even more to our GDP and make us a major exporter of food across the world. It’s a new dawn. - STOCK MARKET REFORM- Just last month, the Nigeria Exchange Group released new guidelines for participants on the Nigerian stock market requiring them to embark on a recapitalization strategy to ensure more efficient operations. Nigeria’s journey to becoming a $1trillion economy by 2030 will not happen by chance and President Tinubu remains very deliberate with his reforms and policies by resetting every facet of our economy to make this a reality. One step at a time, we are moving very quickly from old way of doing things and if anyone can be trusted to lead Nigeria to the future it deserves, it is definitely President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

🚨 HOW SMALL ARE WE? A human is minuscule compared to Earth—about 3.5 million humans would match its size. But Earth shrinks in comparison to the Sun, which is 109 times wider and so massive it could fit 1.3 million Earths inside. Even the Sun—or Sol—pales in comparison to Aldebaran, a red giant located 65 light-years away. Aldebaran is 52 times larger than the Sun and 150 times brighter. In a universe with 30 billion trillion stars, humanity is barely a speck in the grand cosmic scale. Source: Futurism, Owlcation
