@MichaelAArouet In the oil and gas industry you need proper technical reports to prove reserves and feasibility studies to prove the economics of extracting it. So predictions don't mean much in exploration projects.

Can someone explain how the UK saves the planet by importing LNG instead of producing its own gas from the North Sea?
LNG generates much more emissions due to the energy-intensive liquefaction process. Then it is shipped burning dirty diesel.
Does that make any sense to you?

@tomhfh It will not happen. You cannot have a substantial nuclear element in a system dominated by wind. The two are complete incompatible. A system that prioritises intermittent sources demands backup, not baseload. We gave up on nuclear to make room for wind.
