Although we are providing #dementia support on the phone we are still making a positive difference! Working with our client’s family we suggested resources and ideas to try at home to support her love of #music and #dance! I think she likes it 😊

@hannahPUNC18 Try involving the patient in their comments - e.g. "oh colleague you have 3 boys? Mrs X, how many children do you have?" That way it shows your colleague how you want to communicate with patients and teaches them how to. They may not know how to start that conversation :)

Dementia may affect a person in different ways. It might change how they act, how they communicate and how they feel. But thank you to Anne for the important reminder that dementia doesn't stop that person from being an individual and someone who deserves to be listened to.

Think of the Elderly, long term ill and people with Dementia. 'Isolation,' is not new to these people and their Carers. Socially and Financially. They live in this permanent state, with respites from the likes of AgeUk, Alzsoc, Homeinstead and the such.
