@JulieBertagna Beautiful picture. There's something wrong with the image though. Is it inverted left to right? The islands are nearer the North shore of the loch. In that cleft on the ridge line behind the trees, north of Ben Alder, a bomber crashed many years ago

@Sam1hqy @toadmeister Theyre 'certified' for a certain number of years from manufacture. They have been for many years but the older ones used to last longer, than modern plastics. Just refuse to have a smart meter, bmaking the problem of replacing an old one theirs, not yours.

Installing a smart meter is said to be "voluntary". But in fact once your current meter's certification expires you will only be offered a 'smart' replacement. In the end, there will be no choice, warns Graham Lord. dailysceptic.org/2026/03/23/the…

@toadmeister Tbf to the energy companies they’re forced to do this. Why should they receive penalties for not installing smart meters if customers don’t want them? Why isn’t government offering incentives to take a smart meter like they offer incentives to buy an EV?

@toadmeister @HeadWarriorTWM An objection looking hard to find something to complain about! With energy costs as high as they now are it seems perverse to reject a tool which helps us identify where our money is being burned.

@toadmeister That's a political choice, to encourage energy suppliers to only stock & supply Smart types.

@ABridgen I told them I couldn't possibly get in by public transport to cover their operating times, until they eventually excused me permanently after the third attempt.

Rupert Lowe MP is ordered to do jury service despite being an MP. This could force him to be absent from the House of Commons for an unspecified period. The judges name is His Honour Judge Rupert Lowe the Resident Judge, Gloucester Crown Court ! You could not make this up !

@sergeslothrop @TobinMcjiggles @Laiseran @ukhwini @Unpop_Science Where did all the buried tree roots on Rannoch Moor come from and the few trees that are left isolated on islands like on Loch Ossian and Loch Con. Photos show trees used to be dense up to 550m on Craig Var a Rocky outcrop at the East end of Loch Rannoch, before being harvested.

@sergeslothrop @ukhwini @Unpop_Science They will probably just bend or succumb to dwarfism like these battered Scots Pine up to 1800 ft atop Craig Var. Hardier perhaps than the livestock that might otherwise have grazed them in less exposed locations. 914 m doesn't have the same ring to Munro baggers.

@ifellonithonest Ostensibly out-of-area residents would use it. ie. non-payers. At least when East Sussex introduced booking recently recently they continued to allow non-residents to use it for about a tenner a visit.

Isn’t it great that we pay massive levels of council tax but yet can’t use the local dump because the council have introduced a booking system that means you can’t get a slot at the weekend. What was wrong with turning up and dumping your stuff?

Yes, extremes of Right and Left lead to the same bad place. It's also worth idenrifying crypto marxism specifically which infects our Establishment more than the Extreme Right now and which also waits in the wings of our delapidated national political theatre.
Joan E@jardeneria

@YardleyShooting The extreme " right -wing " are just as bad ! Remember Franco ? They are all about power and control --and ego --and money ! I have ceased to trust anyone who wants to be a politician or is already a politician ! All in it for themselves--not us .
