@jonhsonh1454 25 years ago when I came to VN the first time you could get a bowl of pho with this amount.
English

@Conlabrisa @BarDown Precisely. Let’s say a team goes 24 games in a playoff run and a player even gets 22-24 points. That’s considered elite. Oilers fans are so spoiled.
English

@BarDown Imagine oiler fans being so spoiled that they consider a point per game (IN THE FKN PLAYOFFS) to be a “bad” performance…. I don’t give a fuck if he’s minus 20, he’s there for offense. Let the other players worry about back checking and net minder MIND the FKN NET.

@seienaboo @habsfanaticss They have all of the assets to give. They’ve built up for years they could do 2 best prospects and 3 1st round picks if they wanted

@MikeBartner The big 3 of McDavid, Jarry and Nurse at only $27.125M has you in it perennially

@nikichi_n Is the whole building available for $19,500?. Before Covid, the first 2 floors would only be $10,000

@erndog44 @thegoldenmuzzy Yeah exactly people forget how bad it was after the Burke years and how much good the Shanaplan did for the team. He will go down as one of the best.
English

@thegoldenmuzzy Sure. Its Shanny-Dubas "light" and those early days were easily the best period of the team in my lifetime.
Willing to give it a chance.
English

@someguyncanada @thegoldenmuzzy Kent Hughes had no managerial experience. He was player agent. Look where they are now.
English

@thegoldenmuzzy I want to stay optimistic and honestly anyone is an upgrade on Tree but I’m not excited about Chayka, his track record is sus. Sundin makes me excited but also nervous given he has no management experience.
English

@MossingMick @thegoldenmuzzy Kent Hughes in MTL also had no managerial experience. He was an agent. Look how it’s going.
English

@leafs250 @thegoldenmuzzy He set the ground work for what is now the Mammoth.
English

@thegoldenmuzzy Chayka's past is almost meaningless to me. Being a GM for Alex Merulo, you're never gonna win. Makes it hard to analyze much, although I like the contracts he signed for Keller, Schmaltz and Chychrun
English

@BudsandPucks @thegoldenmuzzy They need to try and pull a Washington Capitals. WAS made the playoffs for many years straight but never past 2nd round then missed in 2014. Did a quick retool and won it all in 2018. Ovi was 32 when they won. Matthews can still win with this team.
English

@thegoldenmuzzy I love it but again like you said if Pelley can take a step back and welcome a new culture then I think it can be phenomenal. But if everyone is being micro managed then theirs no point.
English

@world_tourists_ I think the Brooklyn sign kind of gives it away. NYC for sure.
English

@mcclxskey They need to try their best to do what the Washington Capitals did in 2018. They made playoffs for however many years then missed in 2014 then did a retool and then won it all 4 years later. Just 1 cup with this core is all I’m asking for.

Elliotte Friedman:
"We are waiting for Mats Sundin's decision. I believe, if he says yes, it's going to be a Mats Sundin / John Chayka combination."
A few thoughts...
- I'd be pumped with a Sundin / Chayka combination.
- Have to think this would be president / GM, or retitled but equivalent.
- This contradicts previous reports that Toronto is only hiring for one position. That said, this is most current and hence presumably most accurate.
- I still have a hard time reconciling why the decision for both roles is occurring at the same point in time.
- What if Sundin says no? Could this be where Mike Gillis fits in and why we haven't heard he's out?
If the insiders haven't been right about the structure all along, I gotta wonder... is there still a missing piece? Is Sundin definitively going to be at the top, directly under Pelley?
I still feel like Mike Gillis would add a ton of value to this front office - albeit, some degree of redundancy between he and John Chayka if Chayka's locked in.
I'm telling you all right now... we are very fortunate John Chayka is available. I really like his body of work in Arizona and I think he and Sundin would insulate each other beautifully.
You can trust I'll be breaking it all down when it's confirmed... but I'm doing too much typing. Giving serious thought to transitioning to a different medium.

@eMTBrides Mark. You haven’t really released any innovative “thing” like almost ever…. Think about it

Mark Zuckerberg talks about Apple
I think he’s right—unless Apple Inc. creates something truly innovative or useful beyond the iPhone, they could struggle down the road. And honestly, Mark Zuckerberg isn’t the best person to lecture on privacy and security given Facebook’s history. Maybe they’ve improved, maybe not. Personally, I still view Apple Inc. as the more secure tech company. What do you think @grok?

I’ve heard many people say similar things about TIM COOK 🤔 I still believe Apple under Steve would have been more successful you can’t convince me otherwise. people would have been more willing to buy whatever they put out because people believed in Steve’s vision in innovation. The man sold innovation not a product. What do u all think? 🤔
