@adamcm777 and I took a lot of misplaced pride in not asking for help.
We never wanted to burden anyone. We always believed we could pull through our challenges together.
When Adam went to the hospital for the first time just one month ago, I had an overwhelming feeling that I needed help. He was going to have a long road to recovery, and the last thing I wanted to worry about was cooking for a few days. So I asked some dear friends to set up a meal train to help us while Adam rested and I became his on-call nurse.
As you all know, that long recovery didn’t happen. He was taken from this world much too soon.
If you feel called to donate, please only do so if it will not cause hardship, inconvenience, or discomfort in your own day-to-day life. Our family is so deeply grateful for the love and support we have already received.
And if you are not able to donate monetarily, please know that your stories mean just as much, if not more. Tell his story. Share your memories of him, even if you never met him in person. Those words have brought me, the kids, and our whole family so much comfort.
