From $100,000,000 positions to scamming for 6 SOL. Here’s how @JamesWynnReal — the influencer previously known for trading 9-figure positions — scammed us for 6 SOL. In order to get some visibility on our whitepaper, we reached out to James on March 16 to arrange a retweet. He offered us a rate of 6 SOL per retweet, which we agreed to and paid. Shortly afterward, he blocked us on Telegram. We could tell because his profile picture disappeared while the chat remained visible on our end. He never retweeted us either. This was especially odd considering we were offering him a long-term deal with consistent paid retweets. We then had another team member reach out to ask why he blocked us and explain that we were interested in a larger partnership — not just a one-off retweet. Realizing he could potentially squeeze more money out of us, James unblocked us and attempted to get another 5 SOL by pretending that WE had deleted the chats (to give him free money?) — If you block someone on Telegram, the chats do not automatically disappear for both parties. They only disappear for the person doing the blocking. James didn’t realize this and tried to act like we deleted the chat after paying him, even though we could still see the conversation while he couldn’t. 🤦‍♂️ — After we called him out for the scam, he seemed to realize he’d been caught. In an attempt to justify his actions — and still get the extra 5 SOL — he claimed he was high on Xanax (and what appeared to be a gummy). If anyone can identify the other small round pill, let us know in the comments.
