I’m not sure why people are so shocked the Brewers are really good. The pitching is young but really talented. The bullpen is elite. In the field, they have gloves and speed everywhere. They have a bunch of quality hitters. They remind me of the Royals from a decade ago.

Imagine being 19 and watching live on TV to see if your birthday will be picked to fight in the Vietnam War.

@MattVerderame I had two pick 6’s in the Creighton University Freshman Flag Football championship. That was my peak!. The next week, in the all university tournament, we played a team from med school that had Vince Ferragamo as their QB. I did not have a pick six in that game

When I was in high school, I hit a walk-off grand slam. Next morning, it was on the announcements. Let me tell ya, it was epic. Turns out that was my athletic peak lol

This answer is worth a listen. I couldn't agree more about the storytelling aspect. That's where the magic is. Anybody with a basic grasp of the English language can write 500-1,000 words. The secret sauce is being able to convey a story in a way in which the piece is insightful, informative and entertaining. One of the great things about working at Sports Illustrated is the legacy behind it. When you write something, you're not just putting your own reputation on the line. You're putting the reputation of a historic brand and all those who came before you on the line as well. There's an awesome responsibility with that. The world is changing. Website traffic is enormous. Without it, you're cooked. But I'll always believe the best work will shine through and people will come back to where they read it, because ultimately those stories will be remembered long after the salacious ones fade into oblivion.

Not my typical post, but some news and an opportunity! My family and I are moving back to the East Coast for my wife's job come Memorial Day weekend. @Paul_Tenorio Anyone that states that this is fake improvisation is merely ignorant to how musicians work within bands. Once Bruce settled on a key, all of these seasoned musicians know the chord structure and have played Chuck Berry songs for years. This is totally real.
