There are two pretty simple reasons why. The main one is that Donegal’s support base is really big. Monaghan and Meath, their two potential opponents, would likely bring pretty significant numbers themselves. Pairing it with Armagh-Kerry wouldn’t make sense.

Just looking at the different permutations for tomorrow’s draw. All logic points towards Armagh-Kerry being given the big 4pm Sunday slot. That’s not good news for Donegal. In almost any combination of fixtures, they look pretty likely to be given a Saturday slot
