🚨New Paper Alert🚨 Sondern & Hertel revisit the core mechanisms within the classic Mayer, Davis, and Schoorman Model of Trust and offer an intriguing argument that the key to trust is feeling that the trustor wants to do good for the trustor (benevolence).

New paper with @OWMs on #trust in mixed-motive social exchanges such as #negotiations in @JofTrustRes. In two studies, we find that high benevolence consistently leads to higher trust and that ability and integrity may potentially moderate this effect. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
