Here’s my mom getting her Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal for a lifetime of volunteer service to @TownofMorris from @HStefansonMB and MLA Blaine Pedersen. She is not on Twitter, so I can’t @ her, so I’ll just have to tell her I’m pretty damn proud of her in person. At some point.

Today I was paid what may be the highest compliment a Canadian can get from a stranger on the street — “nice tuque.”

@heyjturner I've heard the story about the bottles too! Seems more likely to me that it was just a function of an inadequate arena and too few concertgoers at the time... but urban myths/wild conspiracies are more fun.

@heyjturner 2008 was their return to Winnipeg, I believe -- the second leg of the Snakes & Arrows tour. I went with a friend to London, Ont., to see them on the first leg, thinking "They haven't played here since '82... surely there'll be no Winnipeg date..."
