Thank you, Basketball 🏀 For the last 20+ years, basketball has been my world. From local AAU teams to the Nike EYBL, NEPSAC AA, competing in the NEWMAC at the Division III level, and finally the SoCon at the Division I level, this game has shaped me in ways I never could have imagined. Through every practice, every game, and every challenge, I learned what it means to work hard, be part of a tight-knit community, and push myself and my teammates to new levels. I am beyond grateful for the places basketball has taken me and, more importantly, for the incredible people I've met along the way. The friendships, the lessons, and the memories will stay with me forever. As I step away from the game as a player, I’m embracing a new passion—helping athletes navigate the transition beyond sports. I know firsthand how difficult this shift in identity can be, and I want to support others going through the same journey. That’s why I started The Champions Corner (@TheChampionsCorner), a network and community for current and former collegiate athletes. I truly feel the conversation around athletes entering the business world—or even continuing their careers overseas—is not talked about enough. My goal is to build a network that, even in a small way, fills the gap left by the structure, competition, and camaraderie that collegiate athletics and the sport of basketball have given me. The Champions Corner will feature monthly public calls, podcasts, and regular self-growth content to help athletes develop in all aspects of life beyond sports. Whether you’re navigating your next steps, looking to connect with like-minded individuals, or just missing the community athletics provided, this space is for you. Basketball, thank you for everything. I am so proud of this journey, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me next. ❤️

In this episode of Champions Corner: Spotlight Stories, we sit down with Quentin Millora-Brown (@iQBall2000), a Washington, D.C. native whose basketball journey has taken him from collegiate courts in the U.S. to professional basketball in the Philippines. Q's story is one of resilience, adaptability, and relentless personal growth, making him a perfect guest for this podcast. We dive into Q's early days at Rice University, where he transitioned to the demands of college basketball, and his high school years at Bishop O’Connell in the competitive WCAC. He shares insights on recovery and contrast therapy, as well as the challenges of transferring to Vanderbilt University, sitting out a year, and navigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Quentin reflects on his growth mindset, discussing long-term vs. short-term thinking, how "Name, Image, and Likeness" (NIL) has changed opportunities for collegiate athletes, and the importance of investing and making money work for you. He also highlights the adjustments required when moving from mid-major basketball to SEC play at Vanderbilt and shares what it takes to master a specific role on a team. We explore his leadership journey during his time at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, and his focus on consistency, efficiency, positive energy, and instilling confidence in teammates. Quentin also emphasizes the importance of developing strong habits and falling in love with the process. The conversation wraps up with Q's experiences playing professional basketball in the Philippines, his connection to his family there, and how he’s preparing for the next chapter in his career overseas. Whether you're an athlete, entrepreneur, or someone striving for self-growth, Quentin’s story is packed with valuable insights, lessons, and inspiration. Tune in for an engaging conversation that will leave you motivated to embrace your own journey of growth.
