I don't want to falsely accuse writers of AI-use. But this reads EXACTLY like AI slop. And this is the frickin @nytimes Modern Love column, which is notoriously competitive, super hard to break into.

This is from Fassbinder's amazing WORLD ON A WIRE (1973), a way-ahead-of-its-time tale of people living in a simulation. It was a German TV multipart series and this credit sequence is the end of an episode at the middle of the series. Still very cool.

This is pretty incredible. Cultural Revolution-type world in which zealous young bros without any real knowledge of anything were destroying the lives and careers of scientists and researchers based on their childish interpretation of what they thought their dear leader wanted.
