The 007 game sucks. The mechanics are terrible, the writing is millennial, and the character is absolutely not James Bond. I really regret spending money on this game.

This only makes sense from a retrospective (and uneducated) standpoint. Byzantium did not end up looking like our idea of the Western Empire, but that’s because it developed for 1000 years after the West fell. Much like how Rome in 476 looked a lot different than it did in 753 BC

@PhilipThomas6w There was nothing Roman about the spergs in Byzantium who spent a thousand years debating how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. Rome is pagan, its ethos and weltanschauung are pagan. There's a reason Byzantium did nothing but lose territory for its entire existence.

The gun part in particular pisses me off because Bond has a License to Kill, meaning he can kill anyone at any time based on his judgment. The game literally does not allow you to do this, it forces you into actual military ROEs

The hand-to-hand combat isn’t fun, the gun mechanics are too restrictive (both when you’re allowed to use guns and how much ammo you get), and the story really forces you in one path rather than letting you choose from different options. The whole game feels like a tutorial

@jvacaytips Passably (barely) but unless a lot more opens up after I finish the campaign, I’m going to delete the game and probably never touch it again
