10th of May 2026. Blue skies and sunshine for the cycle to Timoleague, 120km in total.

Thurs 6th May 2026 - 126km cycle including the Butter Road from Millstreet to Shandon in Cork City.

Wed 29th Apr 2026 - last day of the fine spell of weather. View from Passage West GAA grounds - sunrise at about 6:10am over Carronadavderg in Co Waterford which is 45kms away. The summit of Galtymore was also visible which is 56kms distant.

Sunrise 6:30am. There is supposed to be dust from the Sahara in the atmosphere.

Hilly cycle to Fountainstown on Thursday before the rain arrives on Friday.

@Lizziesaurus 49 years would make it 1977! Different times. People would cycle over Carr's Hill back then which the first big hill. Too dangerous to do now with the traffic.

@JohnDesmond And we cycled all the way back to Norrieland as well! I need validation for this, even if it is from an online stranger 49 years down the line!

@CorkCyclingCrew Passed it today. Tarmac is pretty much finished from cross harbour ferry to the start of the Cut n Cover.

Stunning day... 103km cycle today to Ballycotton.

74km cycle this morning on the Passage West to Crossbarry to Aherla loop. Stopped to take this photo of the viaduct in Halfway which might become part of the new greenway from Cork City to Bandon.

125km cycle on Mon 8th Sep 2025 to Clonakilty. Stopped at Timoleague for a cuppa.
