as I'd said, I had only read the novel to review in the New York Review of Books, & took the occasion to reread most of the others. my favorite McCarthy remains "Suttee"; "No Country" is imagined as a film script, far less richly detailed, monochromatic. much gun lore as if copied from gun magazines. though I love Coen brothers films never have wanted to see this since I expect it's a sort of nonstop "Natural Born Killers" sadism filtered in art.

Would love the TV commentary to tell us how much time (or overs) are left in the day? Feels like quite crucial information and I haven't heard a word about it.
