The most important distinction between left/Marxist and right/libertarian criticism of Israel is that the former is likely to see Israel as simply an outpost of American imperialism, while the latter see Israel as having almost exclusive control of American foreign policy through the influence of its vast lobby as defined by Mearsheimer & Walt. This isn't just academic. For a leftist, the tragedy of the Palestinians is of use as a rallying cry, especially when it's in the news, but their plight is strictly speaking nothing special relative to the rest of the globe with its numerous struggles and injustices. The implication here is that you have to dismantle American/Western imperialism and even capitalism to help the Palestinians, along with the rest of the Global South. For the political right & libertarians, the question of Israel/Palestine is of vital self-interest, as it pertains to the loss of American sovereignty, which now has reached such a level of absolute control by Israeli interests that it could lead to worldwide depression or even World War III. So not even just Americans! This is a message that resonates with almost everyone no matter their level of compassion. Unlike almost everything else that the Palestinians have done to be free, promoting a universal understanding of the power of the Israel Lobby in Western nations along with Jewish supremacist ideologies is something that can ACTUALLY WORK.

@agilofingr @Andrew_Maj42 For real. That is the pet you own who is freakishly intelligent but not really interested in pleasing you beyond the minimum. I had a cat like that, one of his minor feats was playing the phone answering machine early every morning so people would wake up & feed him.

@JohnFiliss @MonitorX99800 The illegal biolab was locked away in the garage. The property manager, Soloman, likely was involved with the biolab operation apparently connected to the California operation. @Grok, does Ori Soloman have any connection with the illegal biolab operation found in California?

🇺🇸🇮🇱⚡️– All of the charges against the Israeli citizen, Ori Soloman have been dismissed. He was arrested for running an illegal biolab containing Dengue fever, HIV and turboculosis in Las Vegas. Apparently the acting federal attorney of Nevada where court proceeding were held, is Segal Chattah, also an Israeli born.

@academic_la With all respect, protest chants are a far cry from genocide. This is too much like the "but they chant death to America, death to Israel!" argument.

He is conflating two definitions of conservative. One is the broadly apolitical one of people who dislike change, the other is that associated with right-leaning politics, which often requires considerable more research & mental hurdles than the dominant liberal ideology embraced by the professional-managerial class.

@susanabulhawa Many more people need to join the Community Notes program. X appears far different, as these notes require so many upvotes that it generally takes days for them to be posted. Bare minimum, every major account needs to join so they don't perpetuate misinfo.

I’ve now listened to half of this and I can say that my esteem for @normfinkelstein has dropped precipitously. 1) he asks incredulously and rhetorically whether anyone can possibly believe right wingers care about suffering and oppression, dismissively concluding they don’t and all ostensible concern for Palestine is really just about antisemitism. I know a number of right wingers, including @Villgecrazylady and @CurtMills reasonably well and I guarantee they are driven by Palestinian suffering more than concern for America first. They are also driven more by genuine concern than many left-wingers who simply use Palestine to virtue signal and are willing to destroy the pro Palestine movement from within in order to do so. 2) Finkelstein posits America first and concern for Palestinian suffering as antithetical values. Actually, the point I’ve heard many right wingers cogently make, including @TuckerCarlson and @RealCandaceO (who I disagree with on many other issues, btw) is that it is automatically detrimental to America to enable and ratify gross human rights violations. So the two are complementary. We can’t advance our values when we are actively destroying them in other parts of the world. 3) apparently, right wingers do not talk about the holocaust enough for Finkelstein’s satisfaction, which he believes evinces inherent antisemitism. Isn’t this the same guy who wrote the book of the Holocaust industry? Maybe it’s time to concentrate on the holocaust happening now, not the one that happened 80 years ago, with many others in between, by the way. And given how the Nazi holocaust has been weaponized to kill Palestinians and ironically commit a new Holocaust, I think it’s reasonable to determine we’ve discussed it enough and the right lessons haven’t been learned 4) Finkelstein warns about handing your enemies their arguments on a silver platter. He did just that in this podcast.

@TheXMatriarch 2010s feminism was absolutely devastating to the relations between the sexes. It was a little rocky before due to diverse circumstances, but men still genuinely loved women and vice versa.

@Tom_Rowsell Interesting how different they are, it shows the power of interpretation in these reconstructions. The right looks like any European today, the left honestly looks more like you would imagine the average European man might look like 25k years ago.

Here are two recent reconstructions of Cheddar man, a Western Hunter Gatherer (WHG) who died 10k years ago in Somerset. I share my maternal haplogroup U5b1d with him. It shows an indigenous European lineage going back to the ice age. My paternal haplogroup is I1 which is also an indigenous European lineage with roots here in the Ice Age. I am not the same as the foreigners who claim kinship with him merely based on speculative predictions about his complexion.

@mojo43528409 @KevorkAlmassian >JFK was the first us prez to approve direct arms sales to the illegal occupation Which he also used to leverage access to Dimona in order to make sure that Israel was not developing a nuclear weapon.

Someone like Norman—who meticulously researches every detail before speaking on Palestine/Israel—somehow overlooked publicly available, documentable evidence about the regime-change war in Syria to install a Zionist-friendly regime in Damascus. Now this. Coincidence?

So your argument is a reference to past history without looking at any of the current evidence. Is that your level of geopolitical analysis? Do you know how mentally feeble the thumbnail for the Youtube video looks? Donald Trump directing Netanyahu to continue destroying Gaza while the Israeli prime minister is just obeying orders? I appreciate you coming into this thread to show the bankruptcy of your position.

@JohnFiliss @coto29 @JeninYounesEsq @normfinkelstein I have no trust that would be time well spent on you. History is full of absolute horror inflicted by Western imperialism that didn't require the Zio psychos. Tucker is neither anti-israel nor anti- genocide. How does the reality of the fact that he makes some talking points critical of Israel while advancing an extremist agenda where he says the Civil Rights movement was evil, supports feudalism openly and has stated he doesn't oppose segregation at home and rationalizes Israel nuking Iran because it is a "regional hedgemon". There is a big difference between what CIA Tucker is doing and a general person on the right wing. It's a bad faith argument.

I reject the idea that there can be no points of human commonality between the right and left. It is being demonstrated, in real time, that a live-streamed genocide can, in fact, blur (or even erase) hard divisions. The normal revulsion one feels from watching, day in and day out, the unrelenting slaughter of infants, toddlers, children, and innocents is not unique to those on the left or the right. It is a human revulsion. The realization that a small group of people seem to wield inordinate influence, control even, over our political institutions, financial institutions, media institutions, education institutions, and so on, is also quite the unifying collective event that puts left and right on common ground. I fundamentally disagree with Norman that some issues are the exclusive purview of the right or left.

‼️Hijacking Anti-Zionism (w/ @normfinkelstein)‼️ "I do believe we are in a difficult situation now because the right, is, at least on one issue, masquerading itself as the standard bearer of a leftist issue...You would not believe how many emails I get: 'what do you mean the Israelis didn't kill Kennedy?'"...They have now hijacked the issue. And I believe they can take it in places that are grounds for concern."
