Today marked my last day with Local World colleagues and tomorrow I'm looking forward to joining the Newsquest team as my new contract starts - still as Local Democracy Reporter for Calderdale, albeit at a new base and with a different email address.

The mobile testing unit at Todmorden Leisure Centre is now closed. Testing is still available at Rose Street today and tomorrow, and from Wednesday 23 - Saturday 26 June, or you can get tested at St Peters Primary School, Walsden this weekend. More info: crowd.in/NXFHa2

254 residents tested positive for #COVID19 between 4-10 June, giving Calderdale an infection rate of 120 per 100,000. This is an increase of 100% compared to the same day last week. Thanks to everyone who is doing their bit and taking up the extra testing.

And they approved Highways Capital Programme for 2021-22, funding including £2m award from Govt for dealing with potholes though less than last year and overall Govt is giving the council £1.37m less this year to maintain highways. Highways spending will add up to over £5m. 3/3

They will also link up with Rochdale Council to create a community rail partnership for the Calder Valley line, helping existing community groups and pressing the case for rail as part of COVID recovery, at a first year cost of £20,000. 2/3
