@Devin_Eleven When I started, the best advice my manager gave me was to not put them on my phone until like director or something when you HAVE to. Best advice ever. Work ends when I close the laptop!

Took my work email and Teams back off my phone and my mental health started improving immediately. Recovery from burnout is a long, thought journey but we getting there

@Archaeon_Alex I’ve been trying the approach of how can I help improve the manuscript without asking for experiments unless it’s a fundamental issue. Which is really truly rare.

Honestly, the vast majority of my papers improved with peer-review. But when I add up the cost....not worth it most of the times. Our culture of "just do what they ask, don't put any thought into it" is wasteful. (3/3)

As I finish the responses to reviewers for one of our recent papers, I realize how my mentality as reviewer myself changed in the past year. One of my goals has been to make papers better. Today, I see how this is the origin of a lot of bad incentives. (1/3)
