As they say, all good things come to an end. Saying goodbye to the first release of William Heavenhill bourbon. Bottle 36 of only 225. Given to me and signed by my buddy Parker Beam. I miss you my friend. Your bourbon was very special, but you were even more special.

I decided to pull the trigger on this 15 yr old Pappy Van Winkle's bourbon, bottled in 2009. I've always felt the sweet spot of Pappy, on average, is the 15 year old, so I took the risk. And I was not disappointed. Some magical stuff right here. Impeccable balance.🥃

@JohnHansell I bought that bottle in 2009. There were 3 on the shelf for $69. And I debated if any bourbon was worth that much. I am so glad I bought one. I shared it with family and friends over 3 years only bringing it out on special occasions. One of the top 3 whiskies I’ve ever had.

I often turn my older unopened whisky bottles on their side to make sure the cork doesn't dry out and that there's no leaking. I did that for this very special Laphroaig. The bad news: it was leaking a little bit. The good news: It gives me an excuse to open it and enjoy it. 🥃

I've been thinking about you a lot lately Parker Beam. I miss you as a friend and also as a great distiller. I just popped the top on your Parker's Heritage Collection "Promise of Hope" bottle in your honor and toast to you, good sir. You sure made some damn good bourbon.

I was reviewing High West whiskeys in Whisky Advocate magazine since their beginning. When founder David Perkins sent me this (then) new 16 year old Rocky Mountain Rye 16 year old (80% rye) for review (Batch No.1, Bottle no.1!), it blew me away. Tonight, I say goodbye, and thanks

Decided to open one of the two bottles from my Ardbeg whisky “Double Barrel” set after polishing the “family silver” drinking cups. Released in 2007. I’m poorer for it financially, but much richer in so many ways. Doing my best to appreciate every day. Cheers friends. #gratitude

@MetaVsMerchants The two bottles are from two different casks. They're not the same. I'll drink both. The silver drinking glasses and leather case will be for the legacy. Cheers

Practicing what I preach. Just popped the top on this 1971 vintage Karuizawa Japanese whisky, bottled in 2008. Aged in a single sherry cask. This legendary distillery was sadly closed in 2001. An absolutely stunning dram. Cheers friends. Make every day special in your own way.
