Thanks to all who were able to join us today for the Central Illinois Sports All Star Game presented by Blessing Health System. Team West won the game 122-101. Cooper Knowles of West Hancock was awarded Team MVP for the West Team, finishing with 17 points. He also won the Dunk Contest with three very impressive dunks. Adam Abell from Routt was the MVP for the East Team, finishing with 16 points. Jordan Crowley of West Hancock won the 3-point contest after two tie breaker rounds. Nick Hamilton of West Central won the free throw contest, making 11 consecutive shots.

@iowaneck @IHSA_IL I am old enough to remember watching Iowa girls 6 on 6 hoops on Channel 6 out of the Quad Cities.

I hate to harp on the @IHSA_IL. But, the state boys basketball finals used to be so good. As a child, I would watch the state tourney on TV. Glued to it all weekend. The Do-or-Die Friday. Packed gyms each weekend. It was a spectacle. It’s never coming back.

@Golfndirtracin @Darin1450 Honestly it’s been terrible, the distance that some of these teams travel just to start regionals is bad. Then by the time you get to Champaign The tourney itself seems so sterile no crowds and the format is a slap in the face to the kids that make it there.

@Darin1450 4 class was gonna save us all but it’s gone over like a turd in a punch bowl. Attendance is less than half and the games are just not as compelling minus a local team being involved

39,000 and 111,000 The population of the cities that the 2A Boys Basketball teams come from. I totally understand it's enrollment of the school but this is not in the spirit of 2A Basketball. Im not sure the population of the Sangamo conference cities add up to 39,000. LOL
