I have not posted since last year, and that was in the aftermath of the Kirk assassination. Today I deleted that post. At that time, I placed my trust in the wrong organization to take the torch of freedom from Charlie’s hands.
Similarly, in my chosen vocation of medicine, it is clear that there is a crisis of confidence. Patients do not trust their physicians and hospitals. The profit motive seemingly now takes precedence over patient care. More than ever, I encounter patient with newly diagnosed cancers, asking me to prescribe ivermectin (IVM) and similar drugs-often rejecting conventional treatments.
My response? “While IVM is rarely harmful, and may have some benefit, I have not seen results that would convince me to prescribe these remedies.”
Several physicians who became prominent for their heroic stance during the Covid crisis recently published (along with one non-physician who was the architect of The Wellness Company) a less than compelling article touting the benefits of IVM and similar drugs(which they sell) in the treatment of cancer. They chose NOT to have a single oncologist review their work. I will close this post with their own words, and advise the buyer to beware:
“Given these threats to validity, therapeutic benefit cannot be inferred.”
