@MattRKay Urgency matters. Between assembly schedule days or prof dev days or whatever other obstacles there are, we don’t have a minute to waste. Their education depends on us maximizing their time.

We talk about how OG teachers can be cynical. Some are. But *most* just know the value of a dollar. We not wasting time.

People sleep on how important it is to have veteran teachers around to model efficiency “Whoa! Stop! They’re not gonna read all that feedback. Try it this way…”

@howie_hua Not less liked. Less relatable. All take math classes. Many teach math. Few do colorguard. They’re cool, just can’t relate. Still fun to watch.

I know my color guard videos are my least liked content by far but I honestly like them more than my math videos lol. New trick toss unlocked tonight.

@OKWildlifeDept , do you have these kitties too? While my school are the “Bobcats”, we too, discourage interaction with our mascot. Pretty to look at, but not good for students. Happy to report this fur baby has moved back to its proper habitat.

@MattRKay Agreed. Fmr Mid Schl teacher. Been wondering about using AI for crit analysis. Ie, give teams generalized prompt, have them use diff AI systems (or same but enter their own prompt as they want, then analyze output for strengths weaknesses. Do ppl do this? Just curious.

If we are determined to make human writing obsolete, ok. What’s next?

For how many years will we as a society teach writing? Or use writing as evidence of learning? Not asking rhetorically.

It's Mental Math Monday! How do you think about 104-38? Do you count up from 38 or would you rather think about it as taking away 38 from 104?

@MattRKay I’m far beyond adolescent years, and I still feel this way. What good is a “safe” conversation? If it’s good for us, it’s good for them.

Adolescents need to take risks for continued healthy brain development. If nothing about a class conversation is risky, there’s a good chance that nothing about it is interesting. If an activity isn’t at least a *little bit* risky, there’s a good chance it’s not fulfilling.

I've been in in person and virtual classes myself. Same room with the whole class and teacher is best. Everyone on their own computer in their own space can be convenient but not as great for learning. But the entire class in one room and teacher on a screen just feels dystopian

Yesterday was report card distribution day and they have been available online since Tuesday. Not a single complaint or request for a higher score so far either in person or by email. Can't remember the last time that happened

@OKWildlifeDept We have always seen you! But a question, Is it ok to flush invasive fish down our throats after frying them up? A nice cold malted beverage would flush them well.
