I just uploaded another project dataset (an RNAseq study) to SRA, BioSample, and BioProject - and along the way created step by step slide deck with screenshots of the process (web page captures and metadata tables, etc). Let me know if you're interested and I'll be happy to share it .
I remember early in my career uploading to NCBI correctly was a dark art (most people skip steps or don't bother with all the metadata, used off brand annotations, or just read "optional" as "skip it" - which sadly often makes data reuse a massive hurdle later on), so.... I'm training my team later this week on how to do it "right" (at least IMHO the right way). The deck is ~47 slides... so... maybe it will be helpful to someone else too?
I'm getting feedback from the team on the deck later this week. once I've updated it - I'll share it if anyone is interested. probably will throw it over onto Git or gDrive or something.

@mlstantial Ridge/elastic-net is one way I'd go. More predictors than samples and likely collinearity between predictors. Shrinking of collinear variables is a strong point for Ridge

Heard @realLouisCato interview on NPR with @NPRMichel this morning and immediately listened to the album ffm.to/lcreflections. @realLouisCato I'm truly blown away. Thank you.

@NWSFlagstaff This is definitely what I was getting at. Thank you for the info! It's been a busy one today for sure. Thank you for all your hard work!

@JohnNeddermeyer I may have misunderstood your question. The heavy snowfall this Winter across the SW US may actually delay the onset of our traditional monsoon. There's a pretty good correlation between wet Winters, and drier (or late) monsoons. Interesting stuff for sure!

Heavy rain in several locations of N. Arizona today. Some of the heavier amounts (as of 6pm MST) include Flagstaff (0.82"); Prescott Airport (1.60"); Mt Union (1.20"); West Cottonwood (1.14"); Paulden area (1.73"). #azwx

@JamesCTobias @angie_rasmussen This all reminds me of how media outlets reported on climate change. Giving credibility and equal air time to both sides of the argument. Presenting both sides as though they are equally likely when the evidence does not justify doing so.
English

@angie_rasmussen Yea there will be more factual coverage as all my past coverage has been.

I don't mind the name calling -- it comes with the territory alas -- but this tweet thread contains numerous false implications and straw man arguments, which anyone who reads our story will see. 1/

Lab leak proponents often try to undermine the evidence for the origin of SARS-CoV-2 (which overwhelmingly indicates zoonosis) by alleging that they are being silenced or researchers are "creating a narrative." But every accusation is really a confession. thenation.com/article/politi…

@vectorgen The question is: would you send this hypothetical to a reviewer who was telling you to drop zeros from your analysis on student performance?

@kaffnews The number of players that said Sedona is hilarious. Though they do get snow down there

NAU sent a crew of student journalists to cover the Super Bowl. Pretty comical most of the players from the Chiefs and Eagles they talked to had no idea it snowed in the state, let alone where. It happens. Good stuff.
