Thomas Jefferson observed that "whenever things go so far wrong as to attract [the People's] notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights." This cycle, Arkansans couldn't help noticing the flaws in our method of handling initiated amendments. Let's fix this mess in 2026.

Although I'm disappointed by some of the election results, I'm glad that I got a chance to campaign across our beautiful state and meet so many wonderful Arkansans. I'm proud of our Democratic ticket and deeply grateful to my supporters for all their help. Keep the faith, Dems!

Today the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette again endorsed me for State Treasurer: "[John Pagan] has everything going for him in the race to handle your money, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer. But can he overcome the 'D' next to his name?" Yes, because voters want competence, not partisanship.

John Thurston is a professional politician who treats officeholding like a game of musical chairs. First he was Land Commissioner. Then he became Secretary of State. He's just halfway through his term, yet he's already trying to move to Treasurer. Isn't it time to end his game?

Secretary of State John Thurston invented paperwork technicalities in order to prevent us from voting on the abortion and medical marijuana amendments. What kind of gotcha rules will he concoct if he's elected Treasurer? Can taxpayers and retirees trust him at this point?

Arkansas voters adopted term limits because "elected officials who remain in office too long become preoccupied with reelection and ignore their duties as representatives of the people." Don't let Secretary of State John Thurston evade term limits by hopping over to Treasurer.

I am deeply honored to receive the Arkansas Education Association's recommendation in my race for State Treasurer. I strongly support better funding for our public schools. As a trustee of the Teacher Retirement System, I will faithfully protect educators' retirement benefits.

Thurston distrusts direct democracy because he knows that the Arkansas electorate is much more moderate and reasonable than the legislature's MAGA super majority. Fearing that the People might go around the legislature and pass a sensible abortion law, he blocked a fair vote.

Yesterday Missourians gained the right to vote on a proposed constitutional amendment overturning their near-total abortion ban. But Arkansans have been denied the right to vote on abortion solely because John Thurston and his culture war allies don't trust direct democracy.
