Carver does not have A/C. It's supposed to be 86 degrees in Iowa City tomorrow, with a sellout crowd. For the 1st time ever, I asked a basketball coach, Jan Jensen, about how the temperature could impact the game. @KCRG_Sports

@BeauBronson2 @LloydTorso @VinnysCorner1 It was clearly out. An impressive shot at the old Busch, where home runs in the 1980s were not frequent. Wonderful October moment from someone you least expected.

Legislation in Alabama would establish a 25-foot buffer around first responders, and criminalize those who get too close. A public hearing touched on constitutional rights and -- what about mama? al.com/politics/2026/…

Alabama legislation seeks to define the word "groom" -- but some lawmakers, during a committee meeting Wednesday, felt there could be unintended consequences in which normal activities of parents, pastors, and teachers could be deemed criminal. al.com/news/2026/03/a…

Data center backlash is popping up everywhere, and hearings before the Alabama Legislature focus on large solar farms to accommodate them. Here's a story, ironically, about backlash in Alabama, New York: nytimes.com/2026/03/17/nyr…

Which stops along the Mardi Gras Service are drawing the largest crowds? There are some cities overperforming -- and Mobile is one of them, according to the Southern Rail Commission's analysis of Amtrak numbers. But no one is touching Bay St. Louis: al.com/news/2026/03/t…

@hockey_fan007 @WrestlingNewsCo Agreed. Let's be honest, if it wasn't for Debra apparently saying "this coffee is stone cold" - Vince "the genius" may have been out of business 30 years ago. I mean they were presenting Steve gimmicks like Fangman LeFrost.

@WrestlingNewsCo What i find funny is two of the biggest stars of all time in The Rock and Austin, Vince didn't have a clue what to do with either of them at first.

Vince McMahon held a meeting at Titan Towers in 1996 where he proposed killing the Stone Cold Steve Austin character and reverting him back to the Ringmaster gimmick, according to former WWE creative director David Sahadi. Sahadi revealed the story on Busted Open Radio. He said the meeting took place as fans were beginning to embrace Austin's anti-authority persona. McMahon wanted to turn him back into a character "wearing powder blue shorts" with "stubbly hair," undoing everything that was connecting with the audience. "Stone Cold is starting to come on the ascension, and the fans are cheering him," Sahadi said. "Vince said, 'Give the fans the finger, they'll hate you.' And no, they gave the finger back. It's like their way of saying, 'We love this guy.' And who wouldn't love Stone Cold? This blue collar guy that drinks beer and can tell his boss to flip off." Sahadi said when McMahon proposed the change, the room went silent. "I said nothing because I was in shock. Nobody spoke. It was just silence. And people are thinking, 'This is a really bad idea.'" Sahadi credited Kevin Dunn with speaking up and pushing back against the idea. "To Kevin Dunn's credit, he said, 'Vince, the crowd is loving this. Let's just let the crowd take us where they want us to go. Let's not try to force something on them.'" Sahadi said Austin had not yet delivered the "Austin 3:16" line at the time of the meeting but it was right around that period. He noted he heard the line was given to Austin by Michael Hayes, though he could not confirm that firsthand. "That Stone Cold character nearly was killed before it reached its apex. Where would the Attitude Era have been without Stone Cold Steve Austin?" The story comes from Sahadi's new book, Backstage Pass: Tales from Beyond the Squared Circle, available now on Amazon. #StoneCold #SteveAustin #VinceMcMahon #WWE #AttitudeEra
