Had a lot of fun tonight making my debut as the 10th In-Arena DJ in franchise history for @HFXMooseheads! It was a nerve wracking start and a blip or two but it was so exciting rocking the rink for the crowd in the Q! Let’s do it all again next Friday!

@eastlinkmavs Looks like a good game! Here at Sackville Arena- it’s a tight 2-1 lead for the Auburn Drive Eagles over JH Gillis through 2 periods. Big 3rd expected here after an upset 3-2 shootout win for Northumberland over Woodlawn.

@HerbieHockey @wyshynski @NJDevils The IIHF already abandoned the presumption of bias on nationality when they have begun to allow officials to work games from their home country- as the whole thing is going beyond that to do the job on merit and what they see.

If you’re appointed to a committee like that- it’s because you can put someone’s experience above your potential biases. There’s a huge difference between “balanced rep would be a good idea” and everyone is somehow biased.

100% agree that’s a smart and fair compromise, especially considering multiple pucks are used during the course of the game…versus one jersey/couple of sticks. But I’m guessing there’s a zero percent chance Hughes is giving up that jersey

Lot of people in Canada saying Jack Hughes can suck an egg when it comes to the golden goal puck. I wonder how the narrative would change had it been McDavid, McKinnon, Celebrini etc etc scoring the goal. FWIW: He can have the puck if he gives jersey/stick etc etc IMO

@mblairYQR @GameDayDataBets It’s not his “no questions asked”- the IIHF and IOC’s rules don’t boil down to “finders keepers”. The ref retrieved it for authentication and passing along for preservation as that’s the protocol at all international events. It’s not something new- it’s been this way for decades.

@GameDayDataBets Yeah, I found it interesting that no player grabbed it. Had they done so, it's his puck no question asked. Apparently, the ref grabbed it and gave it to an IIHF official which is odd too because why wouldn't he offer it to player on or off-ice.

@the_hutty I completely disagree with that. Guys want special pucks all the time whether it be their first goal, 100th career, etc etc. What surprises me is that no one on Team USA thought to get the puck in both men's and women's win.
