I was pleased to join the people of Krachi to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the enstoolment of Krachiwura Nana Mprah Besemuna III, held under the theme “25 Years of Transformational Leadership: A Call to Revive Our Heritage and Rebuild Our Alliances.” The occasion highlighted the importance of chieftaincy in preserving our traditions, maintaining peace, and fostering unity within our communities. The efforts of the Krachiwura to unite chiefs and strengthen traditional authority are commendable and reflect the role of traditional institutions in national development. In an era of complex development challenges, the partnership between Government and traditional leadership remains essential. Where traditional authority is strong and stable, development is better anchored and more sustainable. Government remains committed to deepening decentralization, strengthening district assemblies, and ensuring that development reaches communities where people live. I thank the Krachiwura for his distinguished leadership, and the organizers for a successful celebration. We pray that his legacy of unity, peace, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.

I had a fruitful visit from the Israeli ambassador to Ghana H.E. Roey Gilad in my Office at the Ministry of Agriculture yesterday. Our discussions focused on Research and Development in Agriculture as well as resuming internship opportunities for Ghanaian students in Israel.

I had the honour of opening the 74th Annual Council Meeting of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which was hosted by Ghana this year. I commended member governments for their continued commitment to sustaining this vital regional institution. WAEC remains one of the most productive examples of regional cooperation, playing a critical role in shaping the human capital of participating countries and maintaining high educational standards. I urged the Council to continue upholding its credibility and integrity, particularly by addressing examination malpractice through collective responsibility involving schools, communities, and stakeholders, in line with the President’s call to safeguard our societies. As part of the ceremony, I presented awards to outstanding students who excelled in the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025. The first 3 awardees are young Ghanaian ladies, whose excellence reflects the promise of our nation. I congratulate them, their parents, teachers, and communities, and encourage other students to draw inspiration from their achievements. Ghana remains firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of education and will continue to work closely with WAEC to strengthen assessment systems, protect the integrity of examinations, and ensure that our educational outcomes meet global standards in service of national and regional development.

Eid Mubarak to the Muslim community in Ghana. Today, I joined the Ahlus Sunna Muslim community at the forecourt of the State House, in the company of distinguished Imams, clerics, and other Ghanaians. The Ramadan fast is a demonstration of discipline, sacrifice, and moral renewal. The period calls us to reflect, strengthen our character, and renew our position as responsible members of society. Through this spiritual journey, we are reminded of the values that unite us all. As we celebrate Eid, let us stand together and work towards peace within our nation and across the world. May the blessings of this day fill your hearts with joy, your homes with peace, and our nation with continued unity and harmony.

I sincerely thank the Chancellor, the Governing Council, the organizers, and the entire University of Cape Coast community for conferring the Distinguished Fellowship Award, the first of its kind by the university, on me. Returning to this institution is always very meaningful, as it is where I began my higher education and where many of the values that have guided my service were reinforced. My journey at the University was one of growth and service, from being the Hall Warden of Adehye Hall to becoming the Vice Chancellor. Receiving the title of Distinguished Fellow is both humbling and profoundly significant. Thank you to my family, colleagues, friends, former students, and everyone else for being part of this.

Happy 80th Anniversary  Holy Child School, Cape Coast. Yesterday's event was spectacular. My mother was School prefect in the early 70's,  my Aunt  Patricia in the mid 70's and my big sis 1996. I can confidently say I was raised by Hopsans but managed by a Motowner(Dad).

Today, I participated in the President’s Independence Day Awards for school children, held under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.” The ceremony recognized 52 outstanding students from all 16 regions, drawn from public and private schools and including students with visual and hearing impairments. Their dedication, discipline, and perseverance represent the values that Ghana’s education system seeks to uphold. While prosperity is supported by sound policies and infrastructure, it is equally built on the character, discipline, and responsibility of citizens, particularly the youth. I therefore encouraged the award recipients to remain focused, uphold integrity, respect authority, and serve as role models for their peers. I also commended the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service for their continued commitment to nurturing academic excellence, and thanked our partners, particularly Nestlé Ghana Limited, for their longstanding support. Government remains firmly committed to strengthening inclusive and quality education that equips Ghanaian children with the knowledge, skills, and values required to succeed. The Ghana we seek to build will be shaped by young citizens who combine excellence with integrity and leadership. I am confident that our future remains in capable hands.
