@JohnToulet

ttttrans don't take whatever i say too seriously, sometimes i'm genuinely saying stuff i don't believe for little reason. just ask and i'll clarify

@ColdSnapDragon2 @chocolatedebris no you're right, i was too quick to try and defend when i should've asked if it was actually something that deserved defending, im sorry

@ColdSnapDragon2 @chocolatedebris hmm this may not be the most logical take though i do feel like the fact that it was just a part of a set makes me take a lot less issue with it. do you have the rest of the comic?

@ColdSnapDragon2 @chocolatedebris again, i think people are perfectly fine in being upset with her. if she was cis and made transphobic comments a decade ago i don't think i would mind a whole lot but i'd also understand people who would, same for now. but was that image created for this? i feel like it's older

@ColdSnapDragon2 @chocolatedebris i was unsure if you meant the tadc drama or the situation revolving around the image. if people want to be upset with the tadc creator then i have no problem with that, i don't think that comes from a place of queerphobia. it's this image that i think is queerphobic in nature.

@JohnToulet @NoReferences here’s an example of one with what you could call “i’m not going to touch you” racism. responding to a black person calling out white queer men from stealing from black women, stating that it’s just homophobic to call that out, and a well worded response by a black queer person.

@thatguy__yeah @NoReferences i wasn't saying it didn't happen, that's what i meant when i said that my question wasn't a gotcha (though none of those are about trans people like my image was) but simply i wanted to see a comparison of the correct and incorrect way to do so.

@thatguy__yeah @NoReferences can i see examples of each? i don't mean this as a gotcha or anything, just do you have an example of a tweet where a black queer discussed it vs how a white queer discussed it incorrectly?

@itafushipilledd tranny has always predominantly been used for trans women since its inception. if you have no problem with the original tweet then i don't see why you would have a problem with this one.

@SaladTCG you can say i'm racist if you want, but who's fault is it that they're transphobic and homophobic? about 70% of them do not believe trans people are who they say they are. is it any surprise that trans people don't want to be friends with people who view them as their birth sex?

great tusk enjoyer? 🔜 NAIC
“It’s actually black peoples fault that im racist” is crazy
John@JohnToulet

@SaladTCG it's a two way street yknow. i won't really blame anyone for prioritizing themselves, but 54% of black adults being essentially indifferent to trans issues isn't doing any favors for the bridge of friendship.

@brainstronaut @himeyachi troon? idk i never consider that one as a real slur so idk anything about its origins other than i don't think it existed ten years ago (could be wrong) though tranny has consistently since its inception referred to trans women until the modern anti trans panic

@invincibat @wulfhildaa @BastetsPassion @beeisoveritbad @AisSkeet okay but that logic is a two-way street. there are plenty of communities where it isnt racialized and doesn't carry any offensive weight (id imagine more communities than not.) are those places just supposed to stop using it? are the blk lesbians in them supposed to change views?

@wulfhildaa @BastetsPassion @beeisoveritbad @AisSkeet your community is not the only community ever. same w beatrice she's literally canadian and as you mentioned it's aave. black lesbian communities in the us, and specifically harlem, where i'm from and where it originated, still view it as racialized.

it really diminishes accusations of racism if you follow them up with 'and you follow the guy teenagers have been harassing for a year because he calls out transmisogyny'
