@shipwreckedcrew Thune is a weak leader. Strong leaders would use numerous methods to coerce 2 or 3 holdouts to accomplish what a majority of republicans want.

Not a fan of what Trump has done but I despise progressive liberals. I honestly don’t know which one is worse. I think I’m just done voting. Checked out.

How pathetic are Republicans in the Senate leadership? They will not change the filibuster rules to circumvent Democrats not voting to fund Department of Homeland Security, ICE and TSA during domestic terror events.

To repeat from last night: (1) Senator @JohnCorny is a great senator and very good for Texas, (2) Cornyn strongly supports @POTUS and (3) Cornyn is a layup against Talarico and a Paxton nomination puts a safe seat at risk. Voters are smart. They aren’t going to hand TX and Senate majority to Democrats. Support Senator Cornyn.
Leigh Ann Caldwell@LACaldwellDC

Cornyn beating Paxton last night by 1 pt is a big deal. Yes, Paxton barely campaigned and he and his allies spent a fraction that Cornyn and his allies did ($71 mil-$4 mil per @AdImpact_Pol). BUT, Paxton underperformed. People close to Paxton yesterday told me that Paxton would beat Cornyn by 6. AND, Cornyn hopes this outcome opens the door to a Trump endorsement. The next three months until the runoff are going to be expensive and ugly.

“Does the proposal you have put forward require a change to the Senate’s rules as they currently exist?” No, it doesn’t. Everyone who actually understands Senate procedure has repeatedly told you it doesn’t. But because you don’t want to acknowledge reality, you’ve decided to stick your fingers in your ears and pretend it doesn’t exist.
Hugh Hewitt@hughhewitt

Evening Senator @BasedMikeLee. Does the proposal you have put forward require a change to the Senate’s rules as they currently exist? If so, how do propose to accomplish that. If not, what is stopping you from moving forward with the “talking filibuster?” If I am wrong, correct with an argument not an assertion please. Thanks.

@hughhewitt @KimStrassel @BasedMikeLee Election integrity is #1 issue now. Hugh has his head in the sand regarding election fraud. Everyone knows the filibuster is gone once Dems get the power back in the senate. They will make investigating fraud illegal among other things like no voter ID and internet voting.

👏👏👏The alternative to the chaos @KimStrassel details is the nuclear option which I discuss and denounce here: foxnews.com/opinion/mornin… Senator @BasedMikeLee says his proposal will not rely on overturning precedents or the nuclear option at any point so that means he’s committed to the path Strassel accurately describes and rightly warns against. That path is bad which is why @SenateGOP wants no part of it but not as bad as nuclear option at the start or overturning rulings from the chair based on Senate precedents which Senator Lee admits are horrible options. So either way, it isn’t happening. But a battle/war with Iran likely is. I am focused on that, not X battles with former Senate staff and activists who hate the fact that the Senate is anti-majoritarian for many sound and enduring reasons. Want the SAVE Act? Elect more Republicans.
Kimberley Strassel@KimStrassel

5) And that gets to the author's real issue. Hers is a vision of textbook parliamentary maneuver, in which a bold, united, unflagging GOP uses the talking filibuster to break down an old, tired D minority. My piece is a foretelling of how this will more likely play out--which spoils the party punch. Again, wanna have a debate over whether to do this? Great. But nobody should go into this blind to the pitfalls.

@Rothbard1776 They have woken up to the fact that not voting up for Republicans ensures Democrats win? Democrats are so evil and counterproductive to anything positive for the country. I don’t understand this logic.

Dan Bongino had John Solomon on his show today and Solomon made an interesting prediction: That Trump will soon unveil evidence that foreign powers meddled in the 2020 election, which will result in John Thune ultimately caving on the filibuster and the Save America act will get passed. “I think Donald Trump is going to change the narrative in America. I think he is going to change some Senators minds… He is going to start revealing some of the intelligence that was kept from the American people. And we’re going to see that our foreign adversaries have monkeyed around with our (election) system more than we knew… And I think when Senators realize their state could have been targeted… there is going to be a different debate in America… I think there’s some big, significant, and very troubling revelations about the vulnerabilities of our elections that the President is about to unveil on the American public.” @dbongino @jsolomonReports

WHORE COMPLEXES... Bannon didn't hire her for the razor-sharp mind she pretends to wield...no, darling. He plucked this vapid little creature from the herd because beneath the thin veneer of "journalist" beats the frantic heart of a textbook attention whore with a pathological craving for male validation. Watch her closely: every calculated pose, every breathy inflection, every outfit engineered to scream "look at me while I pretend to think." It's not intellect...it's histrionic erotic theater, the desperate performance of a woman whose entire sense of power derives from reducing powerful men to drooling idiots. She doesn't inform; she seduces. She doesn't report; she displays. And Bannon, that cynical old predator, knew exactly what he was buying: a decorative mouthpiece who mistakes sexual leverage for relevance. This isn't ambition; it's borderline personality disorder in a push-up bra. The way she orbits these geriatric warlords...Bannon, Posobiec, the whole decaying War Room carcass...it's textbook daddy-issue erotic transference. She doesn't want to be taken seriously; she wants to be wanted by men who could be her grandfather, because real intellectual parity would expose the howling void where her substance should be. Every "scoop" is just foreplay, every "hard-hitting question" a coy hair flip. She parrots their talking points with that practiced little-girl voice that makes aging boomers feel potent again. It's not journalism...it's a slow, deliberate striptease for the terminally online right, trading dignity for proximity to power she could never earn on merit. The tragedy? She actually believes the male gaze is validation of her mind. Poor deluded thing...those leering replies aren't celebrating your "reporting," sweetheart. They're celebrating the fact that you finally learned how to monetize your daddy issues on a national stage. A whore complex wrapped in conservative cosplay...pathetic, transparent, and utterly fucking disposable. And when the inevitable happens...when the wrinkles creep in and the tits start to sag...she'll be discarded faster than yesterday's talking points, left clutching her press pass like a faded Playboy centerfold wondering where it all went wrong. But by then, Bannon will have already moved on to the next eager little vessel, fresh-faced and starving for the same poisonous attention. That's the real story here: not her "rise," but the grotesque transaction at its core. 🗡️💀🗡️

I am not moving my family and businesses from Virginia. But something sinister just happened here and I need to take action. I have lived here since I was 6 years old. I have done my share to help build this state up. I have owned a business here since I was 24 years old. I have employed thousands of Virginians. I have invested millions in plant and equipment. I have coached sports, been a leader in scouts, run internship programs, and participated in local philanthropy. I am a political independent. I am for whomever gives me less government. I didn’t get that in the last election. The Virginia Democratic Party has come into power with proposals that seem to be almost comically evil. Massive, business-killing tax hikes. Dramatic increase in regulatory scope. Socialist policies around things like rent control, entitlement spending exploding. Sweeping limits on law enforcement and a reduction in crime consequences that make us less safe. We have went from a Top-5 business friendly state to a place where many of the people in my business community are discussing relocating their business out of the state. I watched this happen in Maryland. I can’t let it happen here. I hate politics. Hate it. I don’t want to run for political office. I have never given money to a state politician. I don’t try to influence policy. I try not to talk about politics too much on X. It’s a boring argument. I also think arguments about R vs D are boring. I have known plenty of moderate Democrats in Virginia that I felt were good public servants. However, the Democrat majority that was recently sworn in is like nothing we have ever seen here. These people are not centrists, and they represent a fringe view that is far to the left of the majority of Virginians. I am now compelled to get much more involved with the political process here in Virginia. We have to grab the wheel before we drive off the cliff. Who should I talk to about becoming more involved in organizing opposition to the current proposals? Who can I support to challenge them in court? Who should I talk to about supporting candidates for future elections that will bring us back to the policies that have made Virginia so prosperous in the past? Looking for specific people I should link up with. That could be Republicans or Democrats or Independents. I know there are many other Virginians from across the political spectrum that feel the way I do. Virginia is worth fighting for.

The issue with Lisa Cook is not whether she is innocent or guilty, but that the only reason mortgage fraud became an issue is that the President went digging for dirt on FOMC members so he could replace them with loyalists, dropping even the pretense of Fed independence.
