@kianthequark An incredibly sensible approach. The bill is so poorly safeguarded it is essentially a pathway to eugenics. Anyone opposed to this is portrayed as someone who wants to see terminally ill people suffer. People are demonised for sensible, legitimate concerns.

If you’re sending disinformation about why so many disabled people are against the assisted dying bill, you might just be a bit of an ableist, Do your research, look at Canada, Germany. Then try telling me this bill is properly safeguarded.

It affects far more than the terminally ill. Were it to be tightly restricted to just those people, with no room for expansion under common law, I and many others who are against the bill would support it. But it isn’t. It’s the Eugenics Bill.

Except, of course, that’s not why the majority of people are against the bill. Most support assisted dying for the terminally ill. The issue is that this bill isn’t fit for purpose, has insufficient safeguards, and leaves the way open for eugenics against many disabled people.

I suspect something will happen quite soon that really shows us who the Disability Allies are. I’m not going to say what I see happening, as it’s a can of worms, but when it happens I’ll refer back to this tweet.

If anyone does end up going to starfury next year, especially if disabled. Make sure you document everything. Record if pos And you CAN call the police if you are diabetic and they put restrictions on your health because that's a health and safety issue that puts you at risk.
