Think about this… Former Mayor of Chicago sent kids to private school: U-High. Head of Chicago Teachers Union sent kids to private school: De La Salle. HOF public league coach sends kid to private school: Marist. And we’ve got adults screaming on social media about public vs private when there are key stakeholders in and around public schools sending their own kids to private schools. Dear Beth Sauser, Earlier this week, I showed you video from the East Coast - the West Virginia boys soccer state finals. Now let’s take a look at the West Coast with video from the boys and girls soccer state semifinals in Oregon. Excitement. Joy. Smiles. Lifelong Memories. No yellow or red cards for celebration, no suspensions and no officials or overzealous adult leader screaming at kids, as they enjoy a special moment with their teammates, peers and community. I made calls today to ensure no cards were given, that no players were suspended for the next game. That only happens in Illinois under your failed leadership. There comes a point where common sense has to reign in Illinois high school soccer. As I have personally seen for years and unfortunately now for decades, common sense leadership doesn’t have a chance until either you do what’s right and step aside to focus on another sport or the new incoming assistant executive director is named to oversee the sport of high school soccer that has been discriminated against time and time under your failed leadership. Kids, families, schools and communities deserve a fresh voice, fresh set of ears to actually listen and enhancements. #MoreThanJUSTGames #IHSA
