@augstone Alma Cogan by Gordon Burn is an absolutely amazing novel about the British music scene in the fifties and sixties (and a million other things). It's astonishingly good. Also Nik Cohn's "Ball the Wall" is great. If not a novel, per se.

I've terrible claustrophobia. The Spanish short La Cabina about a man who gets trapped in a telephone box - which I saw too young - haunts me to this day. The ending is...yeesh! #thefilmcrowd
