Congratulations to Buck Martinez on a legendary career! Martinez announced his retirement today from Sportsnet, where he became the voice of Blue Jays baseball. On top of broadcasting for Toronto, Martinez also spent the final 6 years (1981-86) of his playing career with the Blue Jays and managed Toronto in 2001 and 2002.

thespec.com/news/hamilton-… If we don’t invest in health facilities, our citizens will suffer & business will not invest in #HamOnt. It’s disappointing that this type of strategic investment is not even on our city council’s investment agenda.

I’m sharing this beautiful and powerful song from @springsteen, that he wrote in dedication to the people of Minneapolis and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Take a listen. The art of resistance, the voice of artists, well known and every day people all over the world singing, writing, speaking up and out is so inspiring. We the people are alive, empowered, and making a difference with our voices. My friends: use your voice in whatever way makes sense to you! Poetry, singing, writing, speaking, loving, cooking, painting. Show up in the way that you can. We are all creative beings with a voice. We the united people, of these United States, are rising above. We are showing that we care about our neighbors, our fellow human beings. Have no doubt the people are rising. It’s a beautful thing.

I’m sure we will get a trade deal with America and we’ll always be neighbours, but the current moment demands moral clarity. We can stand up for our values and still do business. No matter where you stand politically, killing innocent people is wrong. Always.

We have a choice to make. Do we view the health of the people in our communities as important, or do we not. Health care is too often viewed as a cost to governments instead of a benefit to those who need it.

NEW: Ontario hospitals are facing a billion-dollar structural deficit and are now preparing for “difficult decisions” unless the Ford government increases health-care funding in its upcoming budget, the finance minister has been told. globalnews.ca/news/11625284/… #onpoli
