1,810 girls in rural Kenya 🇰🇪 have received free reusable menstrual kits funded by Kwanda villagers. 65% of Kenyan women and girls can't afford menstrual products. Schoolgirls miss up to 40 days a year. The kits are sewn by local women who earn $3 each. Each kit lasts two years. Our 2026 goal: 1,300 more girls.

The IMF is projecting Sub-Saharan Africa will grow faster than Asia in 2026. First time ever. Not one country carrying the average either. Guinea 🇬🇳 at 10.5%. Rwanda 🇷🇼, Ghana 🇬🇭, Senegal 🇸🇳 all above 6%. 11 of the world's 15 fastest-growing economies are African.

We're back in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 Since 1995, Chipinge College of Horticulture in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 has trained youth in practical trades. Now, we're joining forces and using Kwanda funds to upgrade the college's eight departments with new tools, machines and computers. Departments include welding, carpentry, cosmetology, garment construction and entrepreneurship. The upgrades will help 130 youth train with confidence and prepare for work or entrepreneurship. ❤️ Please re-share to spread the word.

Across 🇸🇳 Senegal, more than 300 men have joined "schools for husbands". They're small local groups where community leaders challenge old norms and encourage men to help with childcare, support their wives, and promote safe hospital births. Lessons cover topics like gender-based violence, family planning, and maternal health. Many of the men are saying their behaviour at home has changed, from helping with chores to supporting prenatal care. Health workers are also reporting fewer home births and safer hospital deliveries. The initiative is currently running in 20 communities 🙏🏾

In Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪, a local company called MycoTile is using mushrooms to build homes! The startup grows mycelium (the root structure of fungi) and combines it with agricultural waste to make eco-friendly panels for walls, roofs and décor. Each panel costs about two-thirds less than traditional materials. The process reuses 250 tons of farm waste each year. Homes built with these panels stay cool by day and warm at night. With a housing deficit of 2 million units, this innovation might be the one for affordable, green housing in Kenya.

Kwanda villagers have pooled £170,813 that may have otherwise gone to: Nike Apple Netlify Spotify Starbucks ... and poured that into: 💊 Free health clinics, 🎒 Free education, and 🪣 clean water across African and Caribbean countries: 🇳🇬 Nigeria 🇬🇭 Ghana 🇨🇩 Congo (DRC) 🇭🇹 Haiti 🇰🇪 Kenya 🇯🇲 Jamaica 🇸🇩 Sudan 🇸🇱 Sierra Leone 🇹🇿 Tanzania 🇺🇬 Uganda 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe 🇧🇯 Benin 🇻🇨 St Vincent & the Grenadines 🇹🇬 Togo 🇷🇼 Rwanda ... it doesn't take a lot. This is a result of 2,000 people putting in £5 a month. No talk, just action. Which is rare to find in most people.

At the start of this year, our villagers voted to double down on drilling community-maintainable clean water pumps in rural 🇹🇿 Tanzania. 💸 We allocated £10,000 to drill six clean water pumps. So far, four pumps are complete and already providing clean water at the following schools: - Nyaruhande B Primary School - Mwende Primary School - Tumaini Primary School - Kasyenene Primary School By the end of October, all six will be installed and operational 🚀 That single decision at the start of the year will provide access to clean water for 8,000 to 10,000 people. 💛 Thanks to the Kwanda villagers. I've attached photos of each pump. Join our small community if you want to do philanthropy together. ❤️ Please re-share to spread the word.

This is a phenomenal initiative but it's also so frustrating that it needs to exist in the first place. People are doing what the government should be doing because Nigeria continues to fail its people. Anyway well done Kwanda.

As a 🇳🇬 Nigerian, this really warms my heart. Along with 2,000 others in the diaspora, @JoinKwanda launched a free healthcare clinic in Lagos. The goal was to provide free primary healthcare to 4,000 people in a year. In just eight months, the clinic has already seen 3,982 people. We also hit an important milestone last month. The clinic diagnosed its first two HIV patients using new rapid test kits. Because it was caught early, those patients are now receiving treatment at official facilities. It's magic what happens when we come together and act as a community rather than as individuals. 🚀 We now have a second clinic under construction in Surulere. Join our small community if you want to do philanthropy together. ❤️ Please re-share to spread the word.

Last quarter was a big one for Kwanda 🚀. We submitted our application to become a UK-registered charity. We added two new board members: Izzy Obeng and Lynne Egwueku. I’ll join as the third. We’re now a team of five, no longer just me. We raised £50,937 and deployed £25,400 into projects across 🇳🇬 Nigeria, 🇰🇪 Kenya, 🇹🇿 Tanzania, 🇨🇩 Congo (DRC), and 🇸🇱 Sierra Leone. Our community grew past 2,000 members. We directly impacted 3,690 lives in the quarter. We voted to launch our first Caribbean project in 🇭🇹 Haiti. The 🇳🇬 Nigeria clinic we funded exceeded targets, treating 2,724 patients in six months. 💛 In 🇰🇪 Kenya, 650 more girls received menstrual kits and health education, reclaiming school days. In 🇹🇿 Tanzania, we funded new water pumps, with two installed so far, serving 2,000+ people. In 🇸🇱 Sierra Leone, we supported farmers with composting workshops and seedling nurseries. Next quarter, I’m focused on empowering the new team to take over operations from me. Goal remains the same: connecting Africans across the world to help our communities prosper. Thanks to everyone who continues to support Kwanda. Read the report: Link in the comments.
