Before You move to Tasmania, you should know: 1. No one is impressive here. People in power are the same people who live just down the street, who feed your cat while you’re away.

Me: *reading about the GAFCON SEPARATION* Him: You know it’s not just because she’s a woman. It’s because she has some liberal theology leanings. Me: Any more than her predecessor? Him: Probably not.

Imagine a marriage free from the "crushing weight of gendered performance." The Gospel doesn't just offer hope; it offers freedom—freedom to serve, lead, and love in partnership, united under the single, perfect authority of King Jesus.

What if the biblical pattern for marriage isn't hierarchy, but profound mutuality and partnership? From the very beginning of creation to the radical equality of the New Creation in Christ, Scripture points to a collaborative dance under the sole leadership of Jesus.

This understanding radically redefines Christian marriage, offering freedom from impossible gendered roles and placing all authority where it belongs. Discover the liberation in a Christ-centered home. fixinghereyes.org/single-post/re…

Who is truly the Head of your home? When we relegate Jesus to a "substitute leader" only for when a husband "fails," we miss the profound truth that He is the only true and perfect Head at all times.

My review unpacks how well-intentioned advice can sometimes undermine genuine partnership and create burdens instead of blessings. Read more about fostering authentic connection. fixinghereyes.org/single-post/re…

Healthy relationships are built on trust, not tactics. When Christian counsel suggests "prompting" a spouse into a role, does it risk becoming spiritual manipulation?

The weight of expectation can be crushing, especially when it comes to spiritual leadership defined by rigid roles. Are Christian men being set up for guilt and inadequacy by unbiblical standards?

As long as we’re all talking about Doug Wilson (since he seems to be influencing some of the most powerful men in our country), I’ll remind you that my sister was calling out his views on sexuality & the Confederacy YEARS ago, and lots of y’all put her through the ringer for it.

I had to write something. “The gospel gives this couple freedom from the crushing weight of gendered performance, inviting them instead into a loving, dynamic partnership under the single, perfect authority of King Jesus.” fixinghereyes.org/single-post/re…

Josh is making the claim here that the best way to ensure church growth is elect right-wing candidates. But what kind of church growth is tied to right-wing governments? The answer is simple: Christian nationalist and Christofascist churches. We’ve actually seen this before. The Reich Church grew rapidly throughout Germany in the early 1930s as more and more members of the Nazi Party were elected. Spoiler alert… that didn’t turn out so well.

Ephesians 5:1-2 “Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

Christ’s Humble Love! (Ephesians 5:25-33) This is the basis of our union. True marital union (as depicted in Genesis 1 and 2 and Ephesians 5) goes both ways. Women are not an idol of moral perfection. We are to come together in humility and love and union. Iron sharpening iron,

WARNING:⚠️ Oof. With shame, I remember writing stuff like this. Similar advice I’d heard was, “Never raise imperfections with your husband. Pray and let the Holy Spirit do the work of conviction. Pray. Pray and Pray some more.”
challies@challies

"...wives can embrace the imperfect ways their husbands lead them now, knowing their leadership is just a taste of the glory to come when we’re with Jesus, our perfect Bridegroom, forever." (Lauren Washer)
