My youngest son, 6, has started doing one of those things that's so special you just know you'll remember it until you die.
He grabs my hand, drags me to his bedroom, closes the door and then pulls out a notepad.
"Daddy, will you write 'loving notes' with me."
He will then write his message. It's usually like, "I love daddy so much" — except imagine it in 6 year old handwriting.
Then it's my turn: "Austin is strong and brave and I love him to the moon and back."
He'll want to repeat this process about 10 times before I call it. Ngl, "loving notes" is me new favorite thing.
One day, God-willing, I'll be an old man laying in a bed reminiscing about doing "loving notes" with my little son. I'm in the good old days.

An audit prompted by numerous whistleblower complaints from residents concerned about the City of Arnold's possible misuse of two Transportation Development Districts (TDDs) has now confirmed citizens' fears as the final report from Auditor Fitzpatrick finds the city has operated in the shadows and the grey areas of the law to generate millions of dollars in tax revenue without voter approval, and then used the money to inappropriately fund city developments. The audit report gives the city and its TDDs the lowest possible rating of "poor" while finding numerous conflicts of interest, a lack of transparency, and an effort by the city to derail the audit process.
"The lack of cooperation from the city is on a level I have not seen during my time in office. I understand most political entities are not thrilled about being audited, but they also have a duty to cooperate with our office during the process and to be transparent and accountable to taxpayers. That is something city officials in Arnold seem to have forgotten as they have lost touch with what it means to be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. The people of Arnold should take considerable time to think about everything this audit has uncovered and what they want their city government to look like, and how they want it to act, going forward," said Auditor Fitzpatrick.

Cash for Clunkers destroyed $2.4 billion in working capital in 2009. The government paid dealers to pour sodium silicate into 690,000 perfectly functioning engines -- rendering them permanently inoperable. These weren't junkyard cars. The program required trade-ins to be drivable and insured. You had working vehicles that poor families desperately needed, and bureaucrats systematically destroyed them to boost GM sales (while GM was under government ownership, naturally). The environmental impact? Pure theater. Most clunkers got 18+ mpg -- hardly gas guzzlers. Meanwhile, building new cars generates 25 tons of CO2 per vehicle before they leave the factory. The program likely increased net emissions while making transportation less affordable for everyone earning under $50k.

So we messed up our time and missed church online at Redeemer in Ft Wayne so we were scrambling to find another service. Yeah no. We should have known better. I nearly lost my mind when the female reading Holy Scripture started leading the congregation in the Apostles Creed. They didn’t follow any of the Divine Services in the LSB, their Communion statement was pretty weak and then that situation. We held on and enjoyed the hymns. Lord have mercy. It’s wild out there my family.

During their first combat tour, while on the island of Vella Lavella, the Black Sheep’s Intelligence Officer Frank Walton wrote to the Commissioner of Baseball with a proposition:
"The Black Sheep are in dire need of sun-shading ball caps due to the humid weather, which quickly destroyed our military issue caps."
Walton promised that his Squadron’s pilots would shoot down a Japanese aircraft for each cap sent to them.
Only the St. Louis Cardinal organization of the National League responded, sending dozens of caps to the heroes in the Pacific. VMF-214 "Black Sheep Squadron" pose with an F4U Corsair after receiving baseball caps from the St. Louis Cardinals.

Serbian football team Crvena Zvezda has been fined €95,500 after fans choreographed a motif of Jesus Christ!
UEFA fined them for "displaying a message not fit for a sporting event and bringing the reputation of football and UEFA itself into disrepute".
The image was a traditional Orthodox tifo of Jesus Christ or Saint Simeone the Myrrh-flowing, while the text underneath read:
“May our faith lead you to victory".
UEFA has stopped games for Ramadan and openly promoted BLM and LGBT campaigns during tournaments.
