@PicklePacker_@DukeForestTech@RentFreeYaNut@willwadeozempic This dude acts like Duke gets everyone. His relationships are with State. Gainey recruited him while at UT and if Boswell hits the portal and comes then that’s a buddy from high school. Also, Duke has Evans and Sarr potentially coming back.
I said from the start I believed North Carolina would swing for the fences on coaching candidates and end up with Mark Byington. Sticking to that (for now).
@jdprestwood@SethDavisHoops@JonRothstein I honestly don’t know. I think they will be five days past the transfer portal deadline if they decide to wait. If Donovan turns them down I’m not sure who they can go to because that coach will probably be a week behind in recruiting and will have to hire a staff.
The Chicago Bulls are not going to be in the playoffs. No one would begrudge Billy Donovan for leaving the team now to take a job as prestigious as North Carolina. If he were interested, the deal would be done by now. UNC would run a huge risk by waiting until April 12th to make this hire given that the transfer portal opens up April 7. Donovn would be worth the wait, but you better be 100 percent sure he is coming if you do. Otherwise, North Carolina has to move quickly. Dusty May is worth the wait, too, but he is not leaving Ann Arbor.
@jdprestwood@SethDavisHoops@JonRothstein already reported he won’t consider anything after the Bulls season is over. He’s reportedly not talking to anyone right not.
@DanM13250@SethDavisHoops No. @JonRothstein just said he is going to take some time after the season and decide what he wants to do. His decision won’t be final by the 12th. Also, he will be considering other NBA jobs too.
