Watching some MAGA accounts cheer for Norway and Haaland is absolute cinema.🎦 🇳🇴 They seem to see a 6’5” blond Viking and assume he’s some kind of ideological soulmate. Meanwhile, Norway is one of the strongest examples of a successful social democracy in the world, and Haaland has publicly supported anti-racism campaigns throughout his career. It’s another reminder that people often project their own politics onto athletes instead of paying attention to who they actually are. And it’s ridiculous, funny and shocking a bit, but not much at the same time.

This is an absolute embarrassment to the United States. Once again our President embarrasses our nation on the world stage and now takes to social media, boosting that his phone call to FIFA changed the outcome 🤦🏻‍♂️ Absolutely horrible precedent being set here. As a US citizen I will be routing for Belgium to win this game. Not because I don’t love my country, but as a lifelong professional sportsman that has dedicated his career to growing sport around the world. I’ve always taught the importance of integrity and sadly the US has proven to the world we have absolutely none. Shameful

Balogun: Suspended Sentence Not Rescinded I honestly would have no care in the world, if they'd rescinded and stated a refereering error and a mistake in the process of using VAR, then someone is accountable. I actually really like Balogun, came through at Arsenal, cracking player but there are rules in place for a reason & this just feels like it's do whatever we want. A Suspended sentence unless a similar instance was to occur then extra games added is what FIFA have stated. What about 6-months ago when the player in question was given a straight red for Monaco for... a similar-ish incident?!

Borderline red for Balogun. The issue is the twist. Had he just stepped on him would've not been a red. But that twist makes it dangerous and potentially endangers safety of the opponent.
