Counting down the minutes to Mets opening day! Here are my top 21 Mets Hot Takes (in no particular order). What are yours? Juan Soto wins the NL MVP. He’ll hit more than 45 home runs and go 30-30 again, leading the league in runs scored. Freddy Peralta signs an extension before the season ends. Mets fans and Bo Bichette will have a love affair and he’s back in 2027 after being a top 3 finisher in hits. Nolan McLean will have an ERA under 3. Francisco Lindor is a Gold Glove finalist. Luis Robert Jr. has a 25-25 season. Marcus Semien has a better WAR than Brandon Nimmo. Brett Baty leads the team in games played at 1B. Polanco becomes a fan favorite once the fanbase sees his skills at the plate on a regular basis. He drives in more than 90 runs. Clay Holmes wins 15 games facing the bottom half of most rotations. Christian Scott will have the 6th most starts on our pitching staff. Benge hits more than 15 home runs. AJ Ewing makes the post season roster. Francisco Alvarez makes the All Star team. Devon Williams has a better ERA than Edwin Diaz this season. Kodai Senga will get Cy Young votes. Jonah Tong will have his first major league relief appearance. Sean Manaea will throw at least 120 innings and have a sub 4 ERA. Either Ryan Lambert or Dylan Ross will have their first major league save. The bullpen turns out to be a strength and a story people are talking about. The Mets will make the playoffs and win at least one playoff series. If they face the Dodgers, they beat them.

And everything else aside, the headline is just inaccurate. Relatively few people even know that Norris was a political conservative. If anything's going to overshadow his storied marital arts & action star careers, it's his long afterlife as a tough guy meme/punchline.

I suspect I'd share very few political beliefs in common with Norris, but this is in remarkably bad taste, especially when we're seeing a huge number of co-workers from across the political spectrum attesting to what a kind, honorable, and stand-up guy he was.

RIP to a legend amongst legends. Chuck Norris holds a prominent place on the Mount Rushmore of American martial arts. In addition to being a military vet and film and tv star, his style of Tang Soo Do directly inspired the teachings of the Cobra Kai dojo through his student Pat E. Johnson, the fight coordinator on the original Karate Kid. We always dreamed of Mr. Norris playing Johnny Lawrence’s biological father in the Cobra Kai series. In my head canon, that was his role. Sending love, respect, and my deepest condolences to the Norris family. #RIPChuckNorris

In seeing how many shows never get off their feet or a real chance to spread their wings, or that get cancelled despite overwhelming popularity, I will always be eternally grateful that we got our complete series. Thank you to everyone who fought to make it happen! #CobraKai
