Question for @chrisemdin: I am hoping to use this quote of yours in the 8th edition of The Skillful Teacher,(rbteach.com/shop/products/1) but I’ve lost track of where it is from. "Hip-Hop calls for the ability to present yourself with literacy skills in verbal interaction, to perform. The Battle and the Slam is one kind. Tell a story that gives voice to your experience, who you are authentically. . . . In hip-hop we compete to build each other up. Consistent affirmation of the performer is part of it." Can you help me out?
