@BL_2889 @GeneGenie666 @ElectionMapsUK @FindoutnowUK I haven't looked into the details of this specific one, but yes. Bear in mind that there's rounding in both the "before" and "after". If you're still sceptical, I'd suggest looking at the data tables which have more detail - the articles in findoutnow.co.uk/blog/ link to them.
English

Westminster Voting Intention:
RFM: 32% (=)
CON: 17% (=)
LAB: 15% (-2)
GRN: 15% (=)
LDM: 12% (=)
SNP: 3% (=)
Via @FindoutnowUK, 15 Oct.
Changes w/ 8 Oct.
English

@GeneGenie666 @ElectionMapsUK @FindoutnowUK Rounding, basically. It means that these percentages don't always add up to 100. (I saw two polls from the same provider where one added up to 99% and the next added up to 102% - it looked very odd in terms of differences...)
English

@ElectionMapsUK @FindoutnowUK How can labour be down two if all the rest are unchanged?
Surely at least one of the should be up two?
English

@FindoutnowUK Minor correction: the data tables claim (on the cover page) that fieldwork was today (October 16th). The blog post claims (more believably) that the fieldwork was yesterday (October 15th).
English

This poll was initiated solely by Find Out Now and not funded by any third party

@JLPartnersPolls Are the full data tables available anywhere yet? They're not at jlpartners.co.uk/polling-results as far as I can see.

@electpoliticsuk @BMGResearch Are the full data tables for this coming soon?

@ElectionMapsUK @BMGResearch Any sign of the full data tables yet? I can't find them (having tried variations of the slightly-inconsistent link conventions used for past VI polls).

@troyhunt @Charlotte_Hunt_ Yup, Alicia posted a separate FB post that she'd been hacked. (I don't use FB much at all; I haven't checked whether things have progressed further.)
English

@Charlotte_Hunt_ I suspect that whoever Alicia Gilbert is has had her account compromised and the phisher is just tagging people in her network. Nasty stuff.
English

Super nasty phish: saw this pop up on my Facebook and initial reaction to the first image was “shit, @jonskeet is dead”. Then the next image talks about a crash with a link to a story. Fortunately FB then gives you a massive warning, before linking through to the phish.

@AviSniffmann @peer_rich See codeblog.jonskeet.uk/2019/03/27/sto…
TL;DR: If you store a *future* date/time where the source of truth is a local time in a location, then in order to store millis-since-epoch you have to *predict* what the UTC offset will be at that time. That prediction may be wrong.
English

Can you elaborate on why storing as ms since 1970 (epoch) and then converting that to wherever the user is on the frontend doesn’t work?
What edge cases are here?
I swear yall vaguely say stuff like this “ohhh it’s soooo complex” to make yourselves feel better/smarter.
Happy to learn but otherwise this reads as smugness.
English

anyone who says "just use UTC" or "skill issue" when it comes to timezones has not invested enough time into figuring out how horrific the edge cases are
Peer Richelsen@peer_rich
a friend sent me this we have reached reddit level relevance 🤣 p.s.: dont work with timezones 🤣🤣🤣 reddit.com/r/webdev/s/lAi…
English

@matthew_abbott_ Please file an issue on GitHub (github.com/googleapis/goo…) - I hadn't even seen this until just now as I don't use X these days. (Using GitHub also means it will get to any member of the relevant team, whether I'm still working in the team or not...)
English

@jonskeet Apologies, I don't know if you still work around this area - the Google.Apis.MyBusiness.v4 NuGet package has been delisted, however as far as I can tell, I can only access location reviews using the v4.9 API, do you know who I'm best placed to talk to about this?
English

@jawsfan66 @HadestownUK @hadestown Fair enough. It won't be a gasp from me either way, unfortunately - too far back in the queue. But never mind. (Seeing it tomorrow night and then the OBC in March, so I'm not exactly Hadestown-impoverished...)
English

@jonskeet @HadestownUK @hadestown There’s nothing like the gasp from someone who didn’t see it coming.
Admittedly I still get choked up at certain moments of the show. But it’s a predictable response that I am already prepared for.
English

It's happening songbirds! 🎬
Hadestown will be filmed LIVE at the Lyric Theatre, London on 28 February and 1 March.
2000 tickets will be available to purchase for these filmed performances and will go on sale tomorrow at 12pm GMT.
🎟️ uk.hadestown.com
English

@HadestownUK For anyone wondering: the tickets have now sold out :(
English

@jawsfan66 @HadestownUK @hadestown You mean you don't gasp anyway, despite knowing what's going to happen? I don't think anything will stop me from pretty much weeping at "And brother, you know what they did? They danced!" (I know H/P isn't meant to be the "main" romance story, but it's the one that moves me most)
English

@HadestownUK @hadestown We need a few people in the audience who don’t know the show so we can get an audible gasp at the right time.
Also, hoping the video’s editor uses cuts sparingly and uses lots of wide shots instead tight close ups and medium shots.
I want it to feel like live theater, not TV.
