First Doug Ford came for autistic children.
Then he came for disabled children.
Then he came for our healthcare.
Now he’s coming for our education. How much more does Ontario lose before we say enough? Hospitals underfunded. Classrooms overcrowded. Wake up, Ontario.
This doesn’t stop unless we stop it. Doug Ford needs to go.

Donald Trump Jr. (Don Jr.) shows up in the Epstein files over 70 times, including in emails to and from Jeffrey Epstein. Ashley Biden's name shows up 2 times in a completely irrelevant way. Yet the Trump DOJ included Ashley in their "list" but excluded Donald Trump Jr.
Ed Krassenstein@EdKrassen

Why does the DOJ's Epstein list include Ashley Biden and Hunter Biden but not Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Barron Trump? All of them are mentioned in the files. The Trump / Pam Bondi cover-up continues.

Doug takes many long breaks from the Legislature. It helps him hide from numerous scandals. He’s not sitting in Question Period, so the opposition can’t hold him to account & reporters can’t ask questions. That’s not leadership. I think people have had it.🤞

@david_parker Norway is objectively better run. It has higher taxes than Alberta, it has better Elites than Alberta, it collects far more oil revenue per barrel then Alberta, it has better institutions than Alberta and it doesn't allow politicians to spend the money! x.com/i/status/20207…
Upper Canadian Cavalier@UCCavalier

Alberta populism has always presented itself as a politics of exclusion. Its central claim is that a productive province has been restrained by distant institutions and hostile interests, and that its failures are therefore best understood as injuries inflicted from outside. This narrative is emotionally satisfying. It is also false. Alberta has not been denied power within Canada. It has repeatedly refused to exercise it. The province’s political culture has been shaped not by deprivation, but by fortune. Oil arrived quickly, revenues followed, and success preceded institutional maturity. Instead of building durable capacity, Alberta learned to posture. Grievance substituted for strategy. Protest displaced execution. Over time, opposition became an identity rather than a phase. Governance was deferred indefinitely. This pattern repeated itself at every scale. Reform mobilized resentment without building a governing vehicle. Stephen Harper reached power with legitimacy and chose accommodation over confrontation. The structures Alberta populism claimed to despise were left intact, not because they were invincible, but because challenging them would have required a seriousness the movement never cultivated. When populism finally won, it evaporated. Separatism is not a break from this tradition. It is its logical conclusion. Independence is proposed not as a plan to govern better, but as a way to avoid governing altogether. It promises control while surrendering leverage, and sovereignty while increasing vulnerability. It is sincerity without intelligence, and protest without responsibility. What makes this failure more damning is that alternatives exist. Alberta could pursue industrial development, downstream manufacturing, and public capacity through crown corporations. It could convert extraction into industry and grievance into leverage. That it has chosen not to is the point. This essay is not an attack on Alberta. It is an indictment of a political culture that mistook noise for power and never learned to govern. @david_parker Once again David is selling something here based on a very selective framing of some of the facts.

@BertaProudDad Uhm... no... Comparing Alberta to Norway is fiscal fiction. Norway built a $1.7T fund by taxing oil profits at ~78% and saving it all. Alberta chose the “Ralph Bucks” model: low taxes, low royalties, and spending the cash as fast as it came in. That wasn’t Ottawa; that was us./1

In Alberta, oil profits mostly go to private companies. In Norway, oil profits go straight into the government's sovereign wealth fund, invested to benefit every citizen. You can thank Harper Conservatives for Alberta not doing the same. You're welcome
David Parker@david_parker

Alberta has the same population as Norway, but we are much poorer, despite having way more natural resources than Norway, because we are tax slaves for Ottawa.

The public record shows that lack of Ontario hospital funding was flagged over and over again. 9000 nursing and PSW positions to be lost by 2027-2028 and 2400 hospital bed closures. This is a clear danger to the public's health. We were warned. cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…

How many taxpayer dollars did Ford waste on the Superbowl ad that boasted about building housing when his government has the worst housing record in Canada? He refuses to say. He's using our money to spread his lies. #ONpoli

At what point does the federal gov't step in to save the healthcare systems in #Ontario and #Alberta from gross incompetence and mismanagement, all in the name of bringing in private for profit, American style healthcare? @GovCanHealth @CDNMinHealth @MarkJCarney
🇨🇦 🇺🇦Michael B. Douglas@Brae3905B

Deliberate underfunding of public healthcare by @fordnation & their extortion of legitimate federal funding for private for-profit gain is exactly what has led to decline of all healthcare in Ontario. The thieves are hiding in plain sight. Ontario is circling the drain.

Cancer research paused. Trials halted. Patients left waiting. Because of funding and staffing shortfalls, hospitals like Juravinski can’t run studies that give people last-chance treatment options. These decisions by Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Sylvia Jones don’t just balance budgets they put lives at risk. When research stops, treatments don’t advance. When treatments don’t advance, people die. Ontarians deserve a healthcare system that fights cancer not one forced to stand down.
P.b.Freire@Freire1Pb

Hamilton Juravinski Cancer Centre Hospital halts launch of 20 cancer studies for patients last-ditch treatment due to staff shortages at 1502 unfilled jobs as of Sept. 1. Unions say HHS job postings have been removed because of $112 million debt as Ford and Jones cutting $21B.

A few months ago Kristi Noem made national headlines claiming that a family had beat ICE agents with snow shovels. ICE was then caught detaining and trying to deport witnesses of the alleged attack, to prevent them from testifying. Turns out, Noem lied. It never happened.

So now, officially, it has been confirmed that all 3 people ICE shot in Minnesota were unjustified shootings, and in all 3 cases DHS initially made up information. Abolish ICE.

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.
