@NikiMarie71 @cityofwinnipeg And I’ve noticed that they know what they are doing is wrong so they drive even faster than before in that block. This is what car culture is in Winnipeg.

The construction reroute for cars on QEW at Stradbrook is so dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. Cars are just turning from the bus lane and not stopping for anyone. A pedestrian is going to be badly injured. @cityofwinnipeg how does this get approve?

Good morning @cityofwinnipeg , there is broken glass in the Garry bike lane (south side of Portage, right at the intersection)

It’s July 12th & the @cityofwinnipeg still hasn’t finished installing temporary flexible posts on the NB Pembina bike lane. From Jubilee to Point was July 2nd, Cresc to Plaza July 11, & south of Univ. Crescent is still not done. @JaniceLukes @SherriLRollins. This is embarrassing

People have been complaining about this all spring. Now we are almost halfway through July and still we haven’t finished. This just highlights how terrible the cycling infrastructure we build is in Winnipeg

@bpincott If we had actual protected bike lanes on Pembina I would save 12 minutes plus on my commute (based on commuting time during 2020 when people worked from home & I biked straight down Pembina into downtown). They would cost a lot less than $700 million.

At City Hall to present on transit & the widening of Kenaston. Looking at all the agenda items today, 13/23 items are about transit, cycling, or pedestrian safety. The real outlier on the agenda is $737M to widen Kenaston to save drivers 13 seconds. #winnipeg #wpgpoli

@bwgilchrist @MarkusAChambers @JaniceLukes Paint? I can’t believe that we are apparently waiting for paint. 🤦‍♂️if repainting lines is required to install flexible posts then this really highlights how badly designed this infrastructure was/is.

Honest question here @SherriLRollins & @JaniceLukes but it’s June 6th. When will the flexible posts be installed on the Pembina bike lanes? Streets were cleared a month ago. We really aren’t providing safe options for cyclists if we don’t bother installing the posts.

I live in a city that is cutting library hours. Closing inner city pools. Refuses to invest properly in transit and active transportation yet has 3/4 of a BiLLION dollars for this Route 90 reconstruction cost now pegged at $737M, including interest cbc.ca/news/canada/ma…

@bwgilchrist I gave up complaining about this a few years ago. The bike lane on South Pembina by Plaza is regularly blocked by delivery drivers. Same issue at Point Rd. The lack of effort on safety is depressing
