@Jonafin_B @extremaratio69 Most of them do it for free and then pass their works off to a bunch of shady middlemen who host them on sites covered in advertisements and such. The gray area is piracy for profit. Piracy for passion is much less unethical.

@azukiglg No. They don't see it as a compliment per se. They're saying it as a reality check. Because Japanese keep spreading baseless worries. Saying that pirates never buy products when they are available. The example is brought up because it disproves that.
